Well, it already crapped out on me once this evening, so it might last for a little while now.

I have a friend who is a teacher and administrator for a small college. She hates the state 😉

Yup.

The state tends to do a "Here is this change, we want it implemented YESTERDAY... we don't care that the current system has worked for 3 years. We have new folks and they have to look like they're earning their keep." Then the college complies, and the next mont they're "Forget the new rules. We didn't mean it. Resend everything with the old method which we're sure you kept in your computers and system even though we swore we'd never use it again and demanded you move on"

Exactly. And every year there are new administrators who are going to "fix all of education" with a new version of an old system.

Yup. And I am told if you point that out, they swear it is TOTALLY different.

Mm-hm. And then get transferred to the worst school in the district.

I'm a bit stressed by having too many things happening this week, but at least one (a parent meeting that's likely to be unpleasant) will be over by tomorrow afternoon.

Now one of my housemates, she's having a rough year. She's coming home from a funeral of her uncle soon.

Yeah, that's definitely hard.

And her mom is showing signs of dementia too. Ugly sitch in the making. 😞
