She's visiting her Aunt, the one who lost her House to a fire, but she's getting some drama from her mother. I won't name names beyond this, but the woman has a college degree twice over, but her mother's mindset is back in the 1950s and doesn't know why her daughter didn't stay in the same town and work at the factory etc.

Actually, my first time deep-frying in a LONNNNNNNG time (and without a real deep fryer).

Could have been better, but also could have been worse, so I'm taking the win.

Oh, yeah, we buy fried chicken on a fairly regular basis. And fries. But no, deep frying was never part of my northern US / Canadian heritage (at least as my mother had learned cooking).

It's almost like you weirdos up north WANT to live healthily. 😉

Alex made Life yesterday and completed a camping merit badge so we're within 3 MBs of all Eagle done. That, and an Eagle project done before 19 March.

Super proud of him, but it's going to be a RACE to get there. So I'm helping him get organized and make progress.

And Daniel's currently pulling a D and an F in his English writing AP and Agriscience classes, respectively.

So he has makeup work to do.

It's just missing assignments, really; when he turns it in, he gets 80+.

What's the Eagle Scout project going to be?

And UGH...Yeah, Daniel better get on it.

I mean... failing FARM?

We are not 100% on the project yet. He only made Life yesterday although we have talked about options.
