Not my boys so much. Thing2 is more focused on the texture of his clothing, vs the appropriateness of them for climate. And Thing1 is pissed at me and wouldn't ask me for a glass of water if he were on fire. So.

He was found to be abusing the privilege of having a cell phone and (school) laptop by taking them to his room. We've dealt with this exact behavior before and the consequence this time is the same as previous; his phone and laptop are surrendered on parental arrival home and he doesn't get them back till the next day/when he needs them.

He's acting as if all this is new and insulting. :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Well, it's "new" because adolescents are completely different beings several times in that 10+ year period. So it's "new" for this version of him.

And of course, you're an adult, so you just don't KNOW.

The last time he lost charging/possession privileges was about a month ago....

Ah, well...there goes that theory.

If we leave the electronics outside our room, they sneak out after lights out to use 'em. :woman-shrugging::skin-tone-2: Anyway. He's missed b/c he screwed up and is having trouble accepting responsibility for that. Also, he lied to my face when I called him on it. Strike two.
