The government buildings had favored the rounded pure elegance attempting to recreate the feel of older greater empires. Those designing the Great School had not been content with that. Somehow, wrought iron thick as tree trunks had been woven in tandem with crystalline material that made love to every ray of light and birthed not the harsh white favored by the High Council's grand chambers, but shimmering and soft prismatic hues. Oh, there was stone too, lending its strength, but the the stonework there was a subdued blue, like a sky knowing its place was to help frame a rainbow.
It should have been blinding, instead it was effusive and dazzling. In the stories, wizards were said to prefer towers, and there were towers here, but they weren't the crude tall four sided blocks of defensive castles, nor even the more rounded looks of later designs. The towers tapered like hands in prayer around the main body of the school which, if the hands were in prayer, it was the altar about which they prayed.
And yet, that was not the half of it. For those blessed with the gift of seeing the fundamental underpinnings of magic, the symbols adorning it were as detailed and ingrained as prize winning roses in a trellis.
