I fear I'm going to follow soon after. Just catching up on Odyssey.

I swear to dog.... we got speech buttons for Jewel. She has connected that the sounds from them won't hurt her, they happen when you push the button, and you get treats when you push the buttons if asked to do so. Random button pushing does not produce treats.

Each button has a recording of a family member saying their name except for Valencia; that's my voice.

And there's a button of me saying Jewel's name. So.

Just spent 10 minutes trying to get her to 'say' my name. "Jewel, button. Say mommy. Jewel, paw, button, treat. Mommy. Say mommy."

She pushed EVERY OTHER BUTTON ON THE MAT BUT MINE.

REPEATEDLY.

I pushed the button to show her which one I would reward for and SHE JUST SAT THERE LOOKING UP AND AWAY.

If the dog could have smirked and rolled her eyes, she would have.
