Okay for me. Housemate has a birthday today, but she will probably be celebrating this weekend.

Been spending a lot of time out in the burbs helping out my sick friend. He's got a whole mess of health complications... ignoring everything and refusing to go to a doctor for 20+ years will do that

untreated HS was a big part of it, and mainlining OTC painkillers for months (years?) until his kidneys shut down is the main part of it

He's (forcibly) turned a corner now. Now he gets to see MULTIPLE doctors! Every day!

I feel sorry for him... I too have been a bit dumb at times ... it's embarrassing 😮

My surgery is scheduled, working out details at work now.

He's also incredibly anemic and possibly pre-diabetic so he has zero energy - Like he's getting better every day, but he's still JUST at the point where he can walk to the bathroom on his own (with a walker). But then he's exhausted after wards. So he needs someone at home with him all the time, and well, he's lucky to have very good friends

We've got him set up to start getting at-home dialysis HOPEFULLY starting next week, which will cut down on a lot of care - he can't drive, and needs it 4xweek.

Seeing a new PCP, dietician, wound care doc, dermatologist, urologist, and gastro, and a home health nurse that will come a few more times

LOTS of appts and phone calls

so many phone calls

Hope he can get on the donor list

But he's changing his diet, willing to see the docs, and has discussed other life style changes so things are looking up

good news is they do NOT think it's kidney FAILURE - they call it a kidney injury

so hoping they'll bounce back.

apparently you only NEED like 20%

he also has 4 cats - 2 normal, 1 diabetic, and one semi-feral he took in just before he got sick who can't be handled

so it's a WHOLE LOT
