I believe that Aiden may have stipulated that he retains breeding rights on the dogs from this litter. He's put work into the line, and doesn't want someone to ruin it with a poor crossbreeding attempt.

He IS Ailil after all. He wants credit for the breed!

I think normally the pups sold of an rare pure breed would be sterilized to prevent unauthorized litters, but in fae instances, it may just be a more strict contract that he retains some measure of control... 😄

Like "no breeding without me approving the lines, etc, and I get a pup from the litter" something like that. Not trying to be too strict! But it would still let Sergei get his finger in the pie, as it were
