Before I go shopping, I ask husband to clear something off the table. I come back, and the thing is cleared of the table, but one of two flower vases (small) has been knocked on its side. The tablecloth is lace, so it's not immediately obvious that there's now water all over the table. "Oh, did I do that?" sayeth husband.

I start clearing table, saying, "I may need your help." Sayeth the husband, "Okay." By the time I'm done clearing the table, I pause and say, "I probably worded that badly. What I meant was please help me clear the table." "Oh," sayeth the husband, "I took you at your word...."
