Cat, I don't know if you saw or if you will ever speak to me again, but Jewel chewed one of her mattresses open. These are lounge chair cushions; rated for outdoor use, pretty tough. Well, there was an 8 inch gash in one.

I sewed it up with a mattress needle and kitchen twine.
