I have had that experience. Roomies rearranged the room and I literally thought I'd had some kind of episode or aneurysm because YES it was the right building and floor and hall and room number but NOT MY ROOM!!!

Actually I've been back for an hour or so. But my friend who I left with isn't. but there in lies the tale

Because of a rule of no more than a hundred miles travel for an employee using their own car, my friend could not take her car (107 miles btw.. that close)

But I came along, we went to switch vehicles

And we drove for a time... commenting on the camera inside the company vehicle. When I said "Camera seems fixed on you, which I guess makes sense. You ARE the driver"

And a thought occured to her . A thought she had not thought before

we stopped for gas, and checking with her boss... she found out, no, a non employee wouldnt be allowed in the vehicle.

Well fuck.

Yup. I hope she doesn't get in trouble for that. She didn't know. So.. I told her not a problem I'd wait at the gas station. She called her DH... and he picked me up after a roughly half hour stay at the gas station.

Eeeesh. :face_with_rolling_eyes: I mean... I get it. Insurance. Still.

Hopefully she doesn't get shit for it. I was just going along for company and she thought I'd like to get out. She kept apologizing. I DO hate cameras and value privacy, but I realize that a company has the right to record their own property.

The 'no non employees' didn't bother me really now taht I knew about it. So I assured her that it was good. She told me I'd get out and a lift...which I did! Just shorter is all!

No harm, no foul, right?

As a manager, I would document the incident and the related advisory/training to the employee and put that document in a desk drawer.
