We actually had exactly that dynamic play out in FALO! Chris Regan's character, Starshadow, hired our bard, Hoot, to write a song about him. Hoot wrote a really snarky song that's got a terribly catchy chorus...so Starshadow said that's okay, he never needs to sing it again. Not so fast, says Hoot, now I'll sing it at every gather unless you pay me not to!

Having your Mom as the bard is kind of like...I don't even know...like being a model for your mother's fashion line. Not a lot of street cred to those bardic stylings.
