Auberta Febland should be our protagonist . And she'll stumble onto another world and a certain gothic castle that has a lot of elements you brought up yesterday in that 'girls don't want boys' meme. The idea is among other things, she finds a crown, and jokingly declares herself princess of what to her is an empty space ideal for just being along form her dad who doesn't understand, the idiots and jerks at school, and so on. Everygirl is a princess her dad says, but there fore, AUberta counters, being a princess means nothing. What she puts on her head in a sardonic fit of whimsy ends up throwing her into the center of things as it turns out the castle and forest around it is not alone. She is now the princess, and the odd creatures in the area not only recognize her authority to some degree, they expect her to rule well. She wanted to be a rock and an Island but finds that instead she and the land are now one and there's oblige in this noblese and while she might walk away, some folks will suffer if she does. It's buck up suck it up time. Characters include her single father who tries to dispense some wisdom but as he is over 30 and male, he cannot possibly be right; Addison- a male witch her age from this new world who stubbornly won't admit she's smarter than him (And worse might be right); and, of course, the seasonals... four monsters tied to four forests, each forest caught in a different season. They need a referee. The Princess is it. And as the gate between worlds opens for her, she also has to study for her exams lest her father freak out.
