Well, we definitely short-form it because it's the first unit. Also, Lit instead of Social Studies. So: Cath vs. Prot., Gunpowder Plot, carpe diem, metaphysical conceit, sonnets. Moving on.

Enlightenment is next, so we get more into exploration there. They will read Candide.

My first year I started at Beowulf. We got about as far as Wilde, and then the test...and it was all Victorian and later.

No, I only do Sonnets because they haven't gotten them before, and they NEED them. They've had Shakespeare before, so I wait until after the test and finish up the year with Shrew.
