Symon tried to play the victim card once with Ann Marie... it's getting so dark early, and it might be dangerous for a weak kid to walk home alone... which is why he really NEEDS that bike...

She tutted and oh my'd him, and later presented him with the perfect solution... a bright pink "security" whistle and Dirk will walk him home whenever he feels scared. OH HE DID NOT LIVE THAT DOWN FOR A WHILE.

...but he did learn that Ann Marie is a softy... not a moron.
