I agree with you, and have been trying to figure out how to address similar situations at work. Although it is probably not a good idea, which is why I have not done it yet.

Okay, that was funny. I got popped by the canine coming in backstage.

He tried to say that the fact that it was old white men who passed Roe v Wade and the Nineteenth Amendment meant that any blame being put on old white men now as a group is racist and sexist. I was trying to point out that the only reason those old white men made those changes was because they faced significant political pressure to do so. Power doesn't relinquish power willingly.

Well, as an old white male myself it is sometimes a burden being the source of all evil in the world 😉 But I think you're right that some guys doing the right thing under pressure then does not give a pass NOW to others trying to undo it. And bringing up the fact they ARE men and not likely to be affected directly by this is well worth mentioning and is not sexist. Some white guys marched with MLKJr, that does not get neo nazis today off their racism frex.
