Watching a thing on Empires in Netflix. Touching up Celts. Would you believe they did not get along with the Romans? I am the shocked.

It would appear the Romans thought the Celts were Barbaric, with the beheading and keeping them as trophies andd the weird hair, and the hey hey... and the Celts didn't like it when a Roman envoy killed one of their chieftains in one of their first meetings. I will say Brennus (sp) the Celtic guy had a touch of class... when Rome ended up paying the tribute, he added his own sword to the weight against the gold saying "Woe to the Conquered" or something akin to it. I had heard that story before but did nto know the details.

Oh, if there was one thing in this world I wish I could get you to Pennsic for, it would be to hear the Preachain bards recite their tales of ancient Celts. You'd be mesmerized. They've done real research, but they're also Real Bards, like really really talented. You'd love to hear them, I swear it.

I know there are some Preachain people there, but none of the bards. Just trying to figure out if there's ever an event close to you that they might be at. You wouldn't even have to be outright social. 😉
