I'm reminded of a set of novels in the 80s..started with Daggerspell I think. The master wizard/druid in it was cool... had his family named taken, went by Nevyn...and on the Astral/Ether plan had a throw down, an enemy demanded to know his name and the wizard answered something like "Here? I am known as Master of Aether! In the mortal world? I'm no one at all"
