Hmmm, Physically he looks like he's 8-9? But sometimes he sounds older, or acts younger. Obviously some stunted emotional/maturity development there.

(I also do not claim to be any sort of expert on 8 yo boys.... 😄 though I have to do a little looking up about reading levels, etc)

He spent a lot of time in Freeholds. Excessive, in fact. So while based on his birthdate (mumble mumble don't ask, I'd have to decide) he SHOULD be older.... but hasn't aged as he should. Or matured as he would have, given the chance. 🙂

That could be interesting. The lessons are often taught in the 'non hold' part of the farm. So he might have a few hours a day where he's going to, gasp, age
