*chuckle* They are both very pleasant company, and I know the Things are learning a lot about responsibility. Thing1 has a definite bias towards the less-messy Valencia and Thing2 a real love for Jewel's enthusiasm and unconditional love.

And, as Jewel grows and gets a bit more self control, I think Thing1 will warm up more. All the boys and Jewel start 'school' for 6 weeks on Sept 30.

Lab is a great choice for trainability. As they said on Dogs 101 "You don't even have to be that good at dog training, labs will try meet you half way"

*nod* Yep! One reason I wanted a Lab mix, and I've got a DNA kit on the way to see what else is in there.

Mom was a yellow lab/mix, but Dad's an unknown. I'd like to have the rest of the story, if no other reason than we can develop some techniques for training and all.
