It's SO good I wasn't there.

That request was on a day where eveerything was swamped, and Gattlinburg, a pretty big tourist draw for East Tennessee, would have been busy as hell. But B was holding a grudge apparently

Secondly, there is a world of difference between driving to the nearest Wallmart, and a drive that would take you into a crowded tourist spot that, if traffic is thick, can take anywhere from an hour to 3 to get where you want.

I get that B is frustrated she can't drive anymore. It's a loss of mobility and freedom.

But B is retired.

Her daughter is working two jobs this week.

The fact B ccan't get it through her skull that someone might need days off boggles my brain

She also refuses to take advantage of services that would get her out of the house

Happily in my case, mom is accepting cataracts as the reason she can't drive, not cognitive loss.

Me? B isn't asking anything of to the point I think she's avoiding me. which on one hand is good, on the other hand, if the doesn't like me I'd just as soon know for sure so I can give her space

well, I tend to have a thin skin, so some of the talks we have had I hope I misread.

But B's tendency to try to manipulate or play the victim card are getting on my nerves, particularly as she plays them most often on her daughter.
