Seriously, the TV execs have been playing the "if you're against this show you're against diversity" thing on ALL fans who have problems with changed canon, paywall, and purple klingons and the press is rolling with it as fact. Yes, there are racist/sexist jerks in any fandom, but that's not what most folks are ticked about

Hell, make any one of the actresses from Hidden Figures into a ST Captain or Admiral and I will (Assuming they stick to the setting) watch the hell out of that show, because they are Bleeping awesome actresses
