The message varied a bit. Some stories of Mortal Souls with amazing powers in the Dreaming are mentioned in one supplement (I think Dreams and Nightmares)... not mages, mortals with Cantrips far beyond what kinian have.

Other books have souls in boxes being carried by Keremet Adhene and being quite prized for the ties to the sidhe still I think.

I have to look up C20, though I fear it favors the 'and the mortal soul is TOAST/destroyed'
