This is an odd question, but maybe it's come up before with your games -- Earl-p, that is. Can you hide your House to avoid the associated minuses? If people distrust Eiluned, and that is the reason for the -1 Social rolls, if you don't advertise, does it still apply? Or, Liam, say?

Guess it makes sense. The minuses seem to be more a result of people worrying about what Eiluned might do to THEM -- not what they can do to the Eiluned, which is the case with Liam.

I can honestly say it hasn't come up with an Eiluned pretending to be another House in my games. Which is weird now that I think about .

Well, it does say some do masquerade as other Houses. Maybe if you have your Eiluned Lady spy for Jessica, she'll go somewhere dressed in green and gold, piss off the Gwyds.

Oh that's what sucks about Liam, it's not the social penalties so much as the social consequences. Folks don't honor oaths with them... I think is what it says, so I read that as they just don't feel a duty to return oaths. A Liam Lord probably has to work HArD for Oaths of Fealty. A Liam Knight might serve a Baron of another House, but that baron might feel no obligation to swear vassalage back

Well, it is "known" they are Oathbreakers... like... everybody KNOWS "that guy" or the "weird old lady with the cats" or the house you don't walk by...

Example, if Jer were to break his Truehearts Oath, he'd get the bird and the banality, but he couldn't be any 'more' Oathbroken than he already is....so it's no real reason for people to think he'll honor Oaths he gives.
