so my copy of Kingdom of Willows that came from Japan got here this past weekend

lately I've just been so put off by some of the characters that end up in Firnost that I just can't get my head around

especially friendly, non-deformed Balor sidhe

but I like my Balor to be mustache-twirling villains so maybe my problem with those characters is just that: MY problem

I actually thought maybe it's a player being subtle, which would be a refreshing change.

And they ARE villainous. You mean the Grump?

Nic pointed out, and I had missed it, they're playing MS very well. She told Ice that she has problems with her leg, a stabbing pain that she takes steroidal shots for.

It does say Balor pass themselves off as Dougal and Eiluned, so they ARE capable of subterfuge.

have to say from what I've seen of the character I'm not sure I have any characters that would have any real reason to interact with her

Yeah. Ice is just fascinated by Balor, period, and one that seems sane after all he's heard? Fascinating.

I was half temptedc the one time I had a little too much to drink (read: half a beer) to bring in my Dougal Nocker just to wind him up and watch him go but in the end I chose not to as I'm really not very confrontational by nature

He asked about that. G She told Ice she didn't want to break in new boots, it's a pain -- and that she'd used it as the icon for her rock band. When he asked if that wasn't kind of obvious, she said that it's a pretty common theme in rock, so she didn't think it was violating Escheat.

She also pulled a knife when she was surprised by a childling, which was....interesting. It shows she has some kind of past.

I will be disappointed, yes, if it turns out she is just a 'nice Balor', though, like you said.

She had a good answer for everything he asked, which -- he tends to be blunt. "So, why are you here? What's wrong with your leg? Why are you wearing a house emblem on your boots, isn't that a little obvious?"

I know that if I were to play a Balor or an Ailil (or any other UNseelie House sidhe) I'd probably be a little hammy with the theatrics

Well, that's why I am letting you know, so you have the info. You can still decide not to, but this way you know.

Well, sure, some are. g But -- you kind of got to think, Ailil are master manipulators for a reason, and if they're hamming, it might be a reverse psychology ruse, right? But there are probably hammy members, too.

first it was seeing the movie and then STO had a Double XP weekend event so that sucked me in
