Brow furrow.

Bilbo yurfs at the Countess, and she frowns "But Bilbo... I.. okay, but they're going in a dungeon"

"Maybe not blood eagle.. ah, yeah. Dungeon."

Then the Countess looks at Dagmar "And just ONE fry. maybe IF you don't mind"

She offers out ONE fry to Bilbo.

Miss Parch sighs as Bilbo is spoiled despite her own views

Bilbo takes the fry like a little gent, and then chews and gulps , wagging "Wiff"

"He says thank you very much" The Countess translates, then says "Tell me, Dame Dagmar, are you already in service to another lord or lady?"

She nods, chest puffing a bit. "I have sworn fealty to Baroness Brekke Shacklebreaker ap Gwydion, of Rivervale. In Apples."

"Oh, I have heard of her" Surprised but pleased "Quite the heroine. She sounds Saga" using the word like someone might say 'cool'

"I guess that means you wouldn't be interested in moving to my hold and serving me," Countess Edrit laments "I could always use true and noble knights"

"I... you know, I think Doomwind is errant."

"She'd probably like it here."

The countess' brows knits, and she looks to Miss Parch "Make a note of that? please? "

"I shall, your excellency" Miss Parch says

"Excellent jouster, too."

"But I grow selfish" the girl says "You and Symon are due a boon. Oh, I know," She looks at Symon "You're not a knight are you? I can fix that. Not in House Aesin, of course."

Dagmar looks amused.

Symon visibly recoils, shaking his head.

"Oh" The countess sighs "Well, my loss? I believe. Still, I must grant you SOME boon" She ponders "Perhaps I should ask what interests or delights you? "

He considers, then shrugs. "This was Dame Dagmar's quest. If anyone gets a reward, it should be her."

"You are most modest, Symon" The Countess Edrit says "But the greatest warriors still need counsel. The mightest blades are often guided by the keen eyes of a scout. House Aesin has warriors, but they are not more honored than the mothers or hunters or skalds and so on. All share in the glory of a triumph, as they should. " SHe looks to Miss Parch "Miss Parch, if Symon the Humble refuses to ask for something, I must ask for your expertise in what a fellow sluagh might find a worthy prize. Anything in the treasurey you do not deem essential to us is to be considered"

His eyes do gleam a bit at the mention of a treasury...

"It shall be as you say, my liege" The shriveled woman replies, though she looks less , well, parched, for a few seconds after every sip of tea "This Lutefisk is delicious by the way"

"Um." Dagmar fidgets.

The Burger was fantastic... for the record, troll sized

"Yes, Dame Dagmar? what boon would you ask? Please, name it" Edrit says hopeful

"Or shall I pick something for you?" She inquires

"Um."

She looks at Symon.

"Yes?"

"I just wanted to get Bilbo home."

"Uh, do you have any books on Primal, or treasures that help with shielding, like Oakenshield?"

"I have armor, but it's just... it takes forever to get it on and off, so it's not really practical to wear just because."

"It's not like Iron Man, who can just..." She gestures. "You know? Summon it."

"Yeah, no time to put it on when your're getting shot at, and that's IF you had it with you." He shakes his head and mutters, "Normally she has a squire to do it, but that's like, for jousting."

"Squires are very handy like that" She observes, "And, Symon Humble, you want defense as well?"

"Actually, I wouldn't turn down something offensive. I'm.. a bit lacking on that end. I've thought about getting a blow gun, but I don't always have the breath for it."

Miss Parch turns to the Countess "Countess I believe I have just the thing , I'll go the the treasury and retrieve them?"

"Please, Miss Parch. Right away. I simply shall not leave heroes unrewarded. That would be bratty" The Countess nods firmly

Miss Parch withdraws, and apparently gets help, for she returns with a tray, upon it, two objects. A fingerless leather glove that looks like a gauntlet of thin metal to enchanted eyes, and a pencil that to enchanted eyes appears to be some sort of stick made of bone.

"Oh, I forgot about the wand, an excellent choice, Miss Parch" Approving from the Countess, then she says "Mister Symon, the wand is yours. Dame Dagmar? WIll the gauntlet do?"

She tilts her head. "What... does the gauntlet do?"

He eyes the wand. For some reason he had been expecting a golden crescent moon on a ribboned shaft, and is relieved to see proper bone and gore. "Wicked." He whispers.

"The Gaunlet is..well, you touch your arms and weapon you want with you... to prime it? It takes a bit of glamour ,nothing a bale won't refresh, just to attune it. Then, once a day, you make downward motion, and those objects appear about you fully outfited and ready... someone made it from the notion of 'throwing down the gauntlet'" The young countess explains "It DOES ruin the element of surprise, because it picks a theme song for you. But it doesn't matter how far away the armor and weapon might be"

Miss Parch nods and clarifies "The glamour is for the gauntlet/glove, not the items the glove summons. And it need only be fed once unless the owner changes. Alas it is only once a day but if a battle comes to you without warning that can be invaluble"

"Ohhh. Wow. Yes!"

A pause.

The Sluagh also smilees as her kithmate says 'wicked'... she was young once. She knew to spare him some 'cute' attack
