Brekke nods solemnly in reply to the equestrian bow. "Dame. We appreciate the use of space."

She may betray a hint of envy; a wish that she could have Stormwake here, but she does not wish to risk any of the animals.

"The Baron's generosity is expansive " She says "Credit where credit is due. Frankly, I think when we found out this bastard hurt your animals, you won most of us over. I have to act more netural than I am"

"Mm." She nods, scowling. "He has given me good cause for this duel...but I am far from the only one who has an account to settle with him."

Grunt.

Dee glances over to her friend "If that grunt mean 'I want to kick his ass' I quite get it. " Satyr emotion threatens to creep out "Did.. did you lose any animals?"

"Almost. Quick thinking saved them."

"And luck that we had the right magic close by."

"True."

A satyr that Brekke recognizes parks and trots over. A bow to the Chieftain and her second. “Baroness Shacklebreaker, Dame Hammerstrike.” And a smile to the local Knight. “I trust Dame Lavender has extended our welcome?”

"This is Julius, Steward of Silverwolf"

A smile "Not that you're forgettable, Steward. Just seemed mannerly in case"

“Assistant Steward.” He smiles easily. “Steward Marigold sends her greetings, but the cold is a bit hard on her joints when it gets this bitter outside.”

"Yes, I recall," she says to Lavender, then a nod to Julius. "We appreciate the welcome. I wish the situation were not what it is."

Brekke doesn't seem particularly bothered by the cold at all. In fact, it seems to suit her.

"Of course you both know Dame Dagmar. I believe you also recall Sir Franklyn, Mountain of Rivervale and my trueheart."

Still on her horse, another bow

“Baron Aiden sends his regards, as well as to say that the hospitality of the manor is extended to you. However, if you do not wish to stay under the same roof as the one you have challenged, there are a few local mortal accommodations we could recommend. And as you are I am sure aware, Dark Gate nearby would surely be willing to welcome you as well.”

He bows as well to Sir Franklyn, the mountain so quiet that he has somehow been overlooked. “Of course. Sir Franklyn was kind enough to see to my last stay, I can surely offer as much the same.”

"Mm. DarkGate would be best, I think, unless that would insult the Baron's hospitality?"

“Not in the slightest. He has also sent work to the Fortress that if they wish to sent a witness to the duel, they would be welcome to observe.” Julius adds, confidentially, “He’s more than a little hoping that they choose the mortal accommodations. Otherwise, they will receive hospitality, but best not assume that the Baron will share bread and salt at his own table.”

Indeed, It appears Hearth Marselles DeBuke now of Darkgate is here, perhaps ready to accept those wanting food and drink at the nearby Lodge/Fort

"I do not think Lord Gildas will be a danger to the Baron's creatures if the Baron has done him no ill," Brekke reassures grimly.

"Hmph."

“True, and yet he bears no love for any who would abuse those that should be under one’s protection by right. Baroness Nadeen told him of the mortal cost. While no Liam, he... understands what it is to love the mayflies who touch briefly in but a single life, but deeply.”

It seems that even as a steward, Julius still has a poetic bent when it takes him.

Brekke nods somberly. "There has been little time, but I intend to seek out more information about those mortals he murdered."

Nadeen has dressed warmly, as if a chill beyond the cold has hit her, and her face vanishes beneath her fur hood

“If law enforcement can be of any assistance, please let us know. We have more power locally, of course, but there are always missing persons reports, and the like. Perhaps he was sloppy.”

"Perhaps. He said they did not matter, but as we know, that is not true."

She casts a dark glance in the direction of the opponent's group.

Indeed, a few mortal deputies are seen to patrol as well, with hints of enchantment about them. Their attention is outward though, not inward, keeping unwelcome visitors at bay.

"Forgive, Baroness, we..cannot let the mortal loss distract us at this time" Baroness Nadeen says "We must be ..focused"

"Of course, Baroness. You are correct."

Julius nods. “If you will excuse me, I fear I must offer the same welcome to the other side.”

"Of course."

He bows once more, and trots over to approach the Dairrean party, straightening his tunic with the Silverwolf emblem, personalized by crossed quills.

And the Hearth of Darkgate offers them rest and food as needed. They will not miss the duel
