"Tea originated in the east, aye." Brewing water, preparing cups. It certainly feels like a ritual.

She observes, almost mesmerized

Zara is meticulous - a fine ceremony to honor the fledge. SHe tells of the history of Tea, both mundane and fae. 1122 flirts with Muffet.

And Catatonia listens carefully, "Ah, so the sluagh fell in love with tea along with the Victorians, or did they introduce victorians to tea.. sort of?"

"They fell in love, aye - but elevated it." She pours the girl a cup. Two sugars, and curdled cream.

Catatonia sniffs the air, the cream, curdled in a way most would gag on, luring her senses

Zara serves Catatonia tea, and settles into her favorite wingback. A little salute with her own cup, and a sip.

Ah, the wingback is still perfect. A pity she can't smuggle it out

Well, she could, but it might be considered a shanda

Catatonia mimics the cup salute, and tries some.

Already glistening with glamour that she continues to seep out, Prue aka Catatonia feels it come out a bit more, for she suddenly feels more refined, wiser, and so much more terribly mysterious! Why even the mere drinking of tea has aspects of ceremony, nuanced and sublime.

"this is an almost ineffable experience" she confesses

"Aye." A grey smile. "Now... you are a sluagh, as you recall. But what if that? To be a sluagh is to also be a changeling - part fae, part human. I must begin in the beginning, in a time when the world was new..."

And so she does, Zara is no eshu, but then, no matter how skilled, what Eshu could truly relate what it is to be sluagh beyond another sluagh herself

It is a tale of secrets, of survival. Of war and shattering, of making way. Of changing, ever fluid, in a world of bright lights and loud voices.

"And... so the sidhe returned and the magic came back strong," She observes "Elves made real. Interesting"

"Aye - but the sidhe are... complicated."

"The world had changed, but they had not. They came to rule."

"But, isn't a monarchy very victorian?"

"Feh!"

"Victoria alone does not make an era. And we had survived for centuries - would we be crammed back under heel?"

The new fledge almost flinches "I.. did not mean to offend" that fear of shandas, even if she doesn't quite know the term

"Nay, naught to apologize for."

"sorry I'm not very good with people, particularly lately, they all think I'm.. off"

"Nay. Thou art Sluagh."

"You are different, aye. This is because you are special. Not everyone can appreciate us."

"But who else sees the beauty of the hidden places, of the spider's weaving, of the darkness and dying?"

"I do long to do all that" she admits with a happy sigh at the thought "Even before I knew what I was," Catatonia admits "I used to enjoy finding dark tight places and just.. be there. Hearing all out around, but no one could hear me."

Foot steps, Earl no doubt

"Your soul was always within you."

"yes, i understand now why i wasn't happy I.." she tilts her head "Someone is coming."

Zara nods. "What else can you tell from the tread?"

"Big, but walks light for his size?"

"And smell - the linseed oil and pine?"

"is that what it is?" A sniff "I can't... mmm I can't.." Then Earl comes into view

"paint" she realizes in a whisper

"I'm sorry if Intruded, I didn't realize there would be tea"

"The Gloves do have new cream. Earl, this is Catatonia, newest amongst us."

"Lovely name" earl observes "An honor, Miss Catatonia" Earl is a bit free with the Miss to a new fledge, but Catatonia's eyes light up at the formality "Welcome to the dreaming world"

"Earl is a troll, one of the giants. They are of duty, and strength, of honor, and protection. Dreadfully straightforward, the lot of them."

"It's a failing" Earl admits

Catatonia grins

"Yet it has a certain charm. Woe unto me, for I am ensnared."

A sip of her tea, then "So, when he is not bending down, is it a long distance relatiionship?"

A soft chuff, amused.

Earl says "Enjoying your tea?"

Zara nods.

"Immensely, Mr. Earl" She replies, "I've only had sweet iced tea before"
