"No. No, Dauntain are exceedingly rare. They are Fae who have somehow embraced Banality to work for them. They can destroy us, and so we do not interact with them."

"Oh, thank you mister stonebat," SHe sips her tea nervously, "So.. my totem animal is the mgihty Morris?"

"Possibly." August sips his own tea. "But yes, as you seem to understand, you can take an animal form... -if- no one is watching you. And you will not be able to speak the strict truth very easily." A sigh. "It can be a challenge to communicate with a pooka."

She calms a bit, but huffs too, "Oh sure, like chatting with an angel is easy peasey. " Blush

"I'm not an angel." Gently. "I am Sidhe. Tylar here is a boggan. We each have our own skills and traits."

Tylar nods "like pooka who change shape and folks find easy to talk to. Boggans can work quickly and we have a good feel for social interactions. Sidhe are the nobles of the Dreaming, though others can get titles. Baron August is a noble wed to another sidhe" He looks at August , "Sorry Lord, I've been calling you sir a lot tonight. Habit."

An easy grin. "I understand, Tylar. Even now, I have trouble thinking of myself by my new title."

Felidae smiles, "So you were her knight in shining charmer? Sounds like a fairy's tail."

"More like she was mine." Shyly. "But you have some of the right of it; we are what mortals created through their stories, dreams, hopes, and love. We survive through their imagination, which we call Glamour. There are some natural wellsprings of it, but most of it comes from mortals. We have laws that all Fae abide by to help protect it. You need to know and remember these to live in our society."

"There's a test?" A groan into her tea cup

Tylar has to fight a smile

August chuckles softly. "Isn't there always?"

"And I just wanted to be an elf" She sighs

"uh" Tylar blinks

"You know, because it's Easter." She says

"Aaahhhh.... Well." August approaches this carefully. "You mean.... do you mean some kind of employment? Seasonal work?"

"Well, I'm not that kind of girl" Swish tail, "But saying as I saved you from that trashcan.." SHe sniffs herself "Is there, perchance , a shower at Yurt ruins?"

Tylar answers that one "Earth Runes has a shower. We'll have to escort you on the trod carefully, it's hard to explain. But we'll keep you safe."

"Then I guess this Birth Dunes is my new forever home" The pooka says

And rises to join them

"Ah. Well. Close enough." And together they journey into the Trod, and deeper into Missouri.
