Earl DeBuke (troll wilder): he makes his way to the kitchen with it and a spare drink and ...one can hear the fridge open

Earl DeBuke (troll wilder): And a moment later, he comes out with a carrot thjat was NOT in the bag, and munches it ravenously

Earl DeBuke (troll wilder): "She knows about 'Raven' that doesn't mean she knows about me. Not that will be hard to figure out. I mean, I said I was an artist." * wince* "Smooth, Earl. Next time just offer her a blood sample."

Earl DeBuke (troll wilder): "Great looking hold though" * A sigh* "Z would love the dark marble effects...though the Solarium would be a Lunarium. And she wanted to read my da'an, that's not disturbing all. HOw did she know about Raven though? I don't think I mentioned... I need to ask her if they met"

Earl DeBuke (troll wilder): "She didn't threaten her, that's good" A frown "And I made my offers to the resuees. Can't BELIVE I rescued an Aesin"

Earl DeBuke (troll wilder): "Okay, Earl, shush, the rafters have ears already..though" he tips his helm to them "If your'e listening, my apologies if speaking too loud."

Earl DeBuke (troll wilder): Then he goes out

Earl DeBuke (troll wilder): gone

Colton comes in with a grim face

Firnost seems mostly empty, at least.. on this level

Sylvi follows Colton in, holding the door for Flopsy. She looks dour and tense.

"I've never been to his workshop, have you?"

"yeah for measurements, and it's more like a general nocker workshop I think" Colton says

"There's a trapdoor that leads down into it"

"Okay...." She squeezes his hand briefly, then they go to the trapdoor. Sylvi takes a breath and knocks.

There are sounds from below

Sylvi waits a minute...but if he doesn't open the trapdoor or respond, she knocks again.

"Ah'm busy, go away" Bert says

Colton raises a brow , "Want me to just open it?"

She bites her lip a moment. "I don't know. I...yes?"

There's a snap of a lock as the glass arm swings it, and he calls down "Ready or not, here we come"

Sylvi picks up Flopsy to carry him down the stairs (or ladder?).

They clamber down, one by one and "This is a really furking bad time, Colton I.." On a slab like some old horror movie is a body, not one made of flesh, but glass. And it's form... that of Kelby! The glass is still liquid, but the basic shape is there. And a nocker lad looks at his still cooling ccreation with a fierce intensity

"Bertand, what...what are you doing?"

"What's it look like? She'll need a new body" He snorts "I thought it couldn't work, but then I remembered... Count Jude's mirrors! "

"You mean, from his PRISON?" Colton's eyes widen.

"His what??"

"Yup. See, the bodies of the ravagers are flooded with glamour constantly, and sometimes Bedlam is accelerated." THe nocker says hooking up electrodes to a hair brush "This means sometimes they fade away, becoming pure dream...and then lose identity. Now that's the extreme case...but that's how I know it could be done! The mirrors, you see? It's glass that catch's souls"

"But Bertand...that's...that looks like Kelby. What are you trying to do?"

"Trying to catch her soul before all memory of this life is endangered, of course. Don't worry, the body is laced wish fufillmentium... it should grow and age as she does ... See, she's just a troll soul..slowly shedding the banality of this life and then it will go on and be reborn, well, this lets me pick where she would be reborn, and instead redirects..and before she loses what makes her Kelby. I got the soul magnet ready to go, attuned for her... It's so simple. I don't know why no one has ever tried this before"

"Because it could do BAD things?" Colton mutters

"Look if I want something punched, Colton, I'll call you"

"Bertand, that's..." She almost says 'crazy' but that's not a good idea. "Bertand, it doesn't work that way. It can't. It's like...you're making a thing and Kelby isn't a thing. Wasn't. It won't be her."

"Sure it will..." Betrand says "You're not a nocker, Sylvi. You ain't stupid, but you don't understand the latest in cross dimenional mango spirit technology and containment. WHere'd I put that old ghost buster proton pack?"

"I know I'm not a nocker, but...Bertand, do you think this is what Kelby would want? This? It's beautiful, but...."

"This.. isn't a matter of smart. Mountain Frank would warn you about this stuff... he's a shaman." Colton says

Neither approach seems to work "You think Kelby wanted to die that young? To leave her family and friends behind? ANd I don't care what Mountain Frank would say, this isn't HIS girlfriend"

"This won't be your girlfriend, either, Bertand! It won't be Kelby!"

"Get the furk out of here, your negativity will throw off my calibrations!" He snarls

Colton steps in front of Sylvi as if to protect her. Okay, troll guy "Hey!"

"Okay, not negative...I'm positive that, of all the things Kelby would want, she'd want to be with you as her...and this isn't her."

"I YELLED at her" He snaps, "We fought before she went! "

"What?" colton blinks "What's that got to do with anything?"

"Oh...oh, Bertand.... Colton, he wants to tell her...."

"I just need.. .it can't furking end like that" He turns back but shakes "I furkin... told her I didn't want her to go. She wanted me to be supportive and I said support what? ANd...it .. I... things are easier you know? Glass.. it's smooth or sharp... or graining, or straight and curved. I can't... "

"But Bertand...she wasn't simple. Not by a long shot. And that's...that's part of what was so great about her. Trying to make it simple is...Bertand, that's not respecting who she was."

"No, she wasn't simple" He admits "But.. this will be fine. She'll be back, and if she wants to break up, I'll understand, but at least I'll get to apologize..."

"And...and if something goes wrong? If being put in there hurts her or something? What will you do?"

'Nothing will go wrong..anyway, it can't... not yet. I have to wait for a thunderstorm and..."

Thunder rolls over the hold

Sylvi gasps, then goes over to the nocker. "Please, Bertand. Please don't do this. She...I know it's wrong that she's gone, but she died being a hero, saving people. That's what she chose to do. Bringing her back would just be disrespecting that act."

"I... " He sighs "I... I "He wipes his eyes, hs natuaral nocker patterns looking puffier "we fought. THat's the last memory of me she'll take into her next lifee if she remembers me at all? What if it's all she remembers?"

Sylvi sighs. "I don't know. But...I bet she was...is...just as unhappy about that as you are. Maybe enough that she'll...she'll remember when she comes back. She'll remember there's something unfinished, maybe."

"I mean...she'll want to make it right."
