Sylvi looks troubled. "Weird."

"Well, a lot of places, Nobility and Sidhe are synonymous..."

a thoughtful look. "I'm glad my da isn't one. All things considered."

"He might be a noble, but yeah...."

"My moms are common as can be too. Then again, I'm dating a Knight..."

Her expression softens for a moment.

A grin at her softer look.

"So...you want me to stay...but I thought others...at that first meeting? I thought some of them were, like, how do know Sylvi isn't just going to get all queen-like?"

"Well, they got over that, didn't they?"

"As I recall it, they got over it specifically because I said we'd figure out some system so there wouldn't be fights over who the next freeholder is."

"Well, I think you've done great, and I'm not looking to oust you any time soon."

"But...don't you see? That's the point. Shouldn't we switch things up before people start thinking a leader should be ousted?"

She shrugs. "I guess that's beyond my pay grade. Personally, I think trying to get used to a new freeholder might set things back."

A long exhale. "That's a good point...."

That troubled look again.

"In any case, why worry about it now?"

"You said you're not planning on going anywhere, so just enjoy the ride."

"Right. Right."

"Glad you agree! But I better get going... I have a new song I wanted to try to get down."

"Sure. Look forward to hearing it!" she says with a grin as she takes a seat again, glancing at her notebook, and reaching out to scritch Mic's head.

As she clips up the stairs, calling back, "And keep that cat out of the studios!"

"Mrow?"

when Sylvi gets the news of the shooting, she might take comfort that few childlings come to Goldfinch. But the sons of adam and daughters of eve, at least the parents in the area, are in a panic

"Be good, Mic," she says as she heads upstairs, making sure the door is shut behind her. While most mortals wouldn't be able to see it, she has her spear in hand as she checks to see who's currently in the studio rooms.

She tries to reassure whomever she finds, and if there are kids there, she makes sure to call their parents to let them know the kids are safe at the studio.

A gay couple who come here to play music now and then, admit they're worried. Their 6 year old son loves hearing them play Saxophones together... But one is like "Do you think it's safe to make it to the car or can we hold up here a bit longer? We paid for only two hours of recording time but... obviously we're willing to extend"

"I'm not going to charge you for staying during an emergency, so you can get comfortable. But if you really want to get to your car, I can escort you, make sure you get there okay."

They look unsure "No offense, Silvia, we aren't in the habit of putting young women in danger for our sakes" One says /"Yup. We're gay, but we're still macho airheads like that" the other smiles

She gives them a wry look. "I'm tougher than I look, but no worries. So sure, hang out and keep practicing, or just relax if you like. We might have some snacks in the kitchenette, but that's kind of hit or miss." A blush. "Sorry, bad phrasing there."

the six year old asks Sylvi "will a superhero stop the bad guy?"

"Almost certainly. But you know what? Superheroes sometimes need help. Wanna help?"

A reassuring wink to the parents.

The two fathers tilt their head curiously, but smile, trusting she's going somewhere with this

"How can I help? " the little boy beams

"Okay, so you know how in comic books, superheroes already save the day? We know they do, because there's a comic book about it! But there's no comic book about this saving-the-day yet. Soooo..." She ushers the little boy to a corner where there's a table and locates some paper and colored pencils for him. "So you can help by making the comic. Draw the story of a superhero saving the day. That way, the story knows how to go, right?" Perfectly logical, kid-wise.

Even more logical, changeling-wise, if the kid ends up being a dreamer.

He sits down, and says "Of course, that's just common sense" he looks over "Ain't it pop, dad?"

And if not, at least he's got something to do to manage the fear.

"Sure is ,son" they say and one mouths to her 'Thank you'

The boy is already throwing himself into the 'job' assigned. It might be amusing to note the hero will clearly be in blue

She gives the dads a thumbs-up. "Listen, I'm just going to check around the place, but I'm in hearing range if you need me, okay?"

She does do a little double-take at the blue hero, and grins.

"Sounds good" they say

And the boy looks up seeing her grin "Don't worry, the hero might be a girl. they can save the day too"

"You bet they can," she agrees, and continues to check the rooms and the entryway.
