When Piper enters the hold she heads towards the Mics, hoping to find this new orange one.

Instead, as she opens the door to one room, she hears a plaintive feline cry...

and finds an orange cat, which has gotten himself tangled up in cords

She freezes and STARES for a moment, then realizes, The cords!

"Jesus!" She looks around, then calls, hoping that someone is around. "Sylvi? Linwood?? .... Prissy??"

A voice calls out "What?" Sounds like Prissy

"There's... a... why is there a cat here?!"

"Oh, that's Mic. He's a moron" Prissy peeks in to see "Yup. Still a moron"

Mic Tries to back out of the cords, which starts to have things ready to fall

"I didn't ask for it's name, I want to know why it's in the studio?!" She paces with nervous clicks. "Can you get it and put it back where it belongs?"

Hurrying to try to steady the speaker that looks likely to topple.

"Oh. No. No I can't. It's our cat now. Sylvi caught it trying to catch the bird IN the glass... I think Mic was starting to get a concusion. Apparently it got deserted by its old family on the side of the road. And Romana and Sylvi got all tender hearted about it. HEck, even Rikki and you'd think she's know better. What, are you allergic or somethin?" She does move to help untangle the cat

"No, it's not OUR cat. Who decided that? You can't have a cat in a studio! They're trouble! Look, he almost... do you know how much these speakers cost? Cats chew cords, and scratch amps, and make noise, and shed!"

Rikki is bad enough, and I LIKE Rikki! She thinks

"Look, I'm not allowed to eat cats. I learned THAT with Scrot" Prissy says recalling how unreasonable Dirk was, "I thought you liked cats. Doesn't your girlfriend have one?" She disentangles Mic and drops him to the ground. Cats are suposed to land on their feet.... Mic lands on his feet but also spreads some weight on his rump "Sides, this one is a moron. He'd die outside"

"I'm not a pet person. Feels like I'm the only one around here who doesn't have a dozen animals hanging off them. Siv has a cat and I love Siv, so Mackerel visits, but that's why most of my gear is stored HERE."

"I'm not a monster, I don't want it DEAD or eaten, geeze. But can't Sylvi keep it at the lodge, or if Romana likes it, she can take it home?"

"Oh" She says "Well, I'm with you. What most folks call pets I call Rations, but yeah, others are loving the little twit. How about I take him down stairs and close him in with the bale? Keep him out of this level? You and Sylvi can talk it out?"

Mic now does figure eights around Prissy's feet and Piper's hooves

purr purrr

She steps back, hands on her hips. "None of that, mister. I'm not some sap you can suck up to, not after you almost tipped the Bose I spent three hours bidding for on Ebay onto the floor."

A nod to Prissy, grateful. "Would you?"

"Yeah, sure" SHe says , grabbing Mic "If it's gonna damage gear we need to keep it away from stuff like ya said, and youre second in command around here"

She looks mollified. "Does it have like, a box and stuff it needs? Food? I can get some kibble if it needs it. Just until we get this figured out."

"Yeah, we got a litter box, some food..he doesn't seem too fussy about food. Lovecraft would probably think the feline genepool needs him culled out of it" She holds the cat which is turning to liquid in her grip "I hate this passive resistance crap, Mic"

Mic keeps staring at Piper with love in his eyes

A glare, and she goes to look for the mini vacuum. "Gotta make sure we didn't get any hair on the sound boards.."

"Oh he hates the vacuum..." she says "If you run it, he'll bolt to another room. SO I'll take him away now"

A bit of a smirk, she files that away.

And down Prissy and Mic go... while Piper liberates.. how does the cat shed 4 times more hair than is on his BODY ? HOW

A scowl as she notes hair on one of her switches, and she pulls her curls back into kerchief, rolls up her sleeves, and starts cleaning in earnest.

Soon, PIper has reclaimed her pristine space

and turns to see Jonas

She wipes a hand across her forehead, and smiles. "Babe! What brings you here?"

"I was going to bring some food by when I heard you were coming here today. The vending machine here is fickle after all." He holds up a small to go box "Thai Veggie medly"

"Ooooooo! First things first..." She steps up on a chair and gives him a smooch.

He returns it "I should you bring you food more often"

"How's tricks? Everything going well on patrols?"

"Dame Anne Marie has fostered a boggan childling and that's causing a lot of work load for her and I suspect drama at her house. So I've picked up some slack on delivery service for her"

"You ARE a cute delivery boy."

A light blush "Siv said much the same. Now are you doing? I Hope you aren't the only one who vaccums here? that wouldn't be fair to you"

A pout-frown. "Sylvi brought in an alleycat, and it's been shedding on the equipment and messing with the cords." She inspects the edge of one of the amps, checking for any scratch marks.

"Oh dear" He looks over the equipment too. He isn't as versed as she but he can look for scratches "I'm sorry. I know you're not the biggest fan of pets"

"They're fine if you like that stuff, but like, this is BUSINESS. Right?"

"I would say Passion, given the way I see you light up" He runs a finger over one horn

"well, yes, that too." She leans into his touch.

"You want me to talk to Sylvi on your behalf?" He says

"Mm, I don't mind talking to her, but our schedules seem to be reversed. It's like the stars aligned... or maybe like, you know how the President and VP have to fly on different planes so that they can't both be taken out in one stroke?" A grin.

"That's true, you do zig when she zags and vice versa" A bit of a smile back, which by troll standards is a grin "Well, she put you as her second in command that means you're allowed to direct the cat to other parts of the hold at least"

A bit of a nose wrinkle.

"Mm okay I know that look. SOmething vexes thee. Talk to me... please" he adds

She opens the food and starts in, offering Jonas a fork too. Between bites, she relates potential grievances. "...cat hair in the equipment, and they track litter... their paws are dirty, they walk in the cat box dirt and then on everything else... caught in the cables, and almost tipped over... "

Though she relaxes a bit as she gets further through the noodles and veg, it seems she might have been a bit hangry.
