Sylvi's a people person, and Sunny, while much older than her (35, ancient!) seems a reasonable sort and not so proud as to blow off Sylvi's calling the shots. Of course, being a towering troll helps at any age.

Sylvi certainly appreciates the fact that she's a willing listener. "So...well, I mean, you're going to learn things through experience, but those are pretty much the basics."

"Furk, is there a test? I mean... wow, that's a skull load to process.." She hass kept her hands busy, working on clothing even as she listened

"Well, I mean...another person might set up tests for you to remember, yeah. If you were going the squire-to-a-noble route, there probably would be as part of your training."

"Squires and nobles.. wow. " She says "I'm prettyu sure I'm of peasant stock. Not serf mind you, but I just don't care which damn fork is which" Sunny smiles as she looks Sylvi over while she works

"I don't aim for the nobility track, either." A shrug. "So welcome to the Hearty Commoner tradition."

"Okay, so for a year and a day I wander around and everyone who vouches for me prays I don't screw up... that seems a bit rough on you. Why should you pay for my screw ups?"

"Well...I mean, if you're screwing up that badly, possibly your mentor is not training you right. Or...it's not the right mentor for you, and you need a new placement. But usually screw ups aren't that massive in the first year because you won't have full access to everything you can do until after you're sained. Please don't try to be the exception there," she adds with a grin.

"You do need a mentor, though. And...well, I know you've got your son, but what's the home situation like? Secure?"

"I have an evil ex" The woman confesses "I still.. get the shivers when he visits I... he's the reason I was shelled up for so long. I worry he's going to move here." She looks at her son

"Dad's a good dad but a.. he treats mom like shit" Mike confesses

She frowns. "Evil like violent?"

A knock on the door from upstairs.

"He's hit me once " She says.

"He what?" Mike says

"JUST Once.. mostly he tells me how without him I'm going to starve. How no one needs clothes hand made by me when they have real fancy stores or cheap factories depending on their preference" She looks a bit glum "And.. he was always trying to make sure I never cheated on him. I never did, but damn it.. he acted like I was a slut just waiting to cheat him"

Sunny explains then looks over "Uhm...we got company. Should we let em in?"

Sylvi's expression has been darkening as she describes her ex, and she has to shake her head a bit to clear the thoughts of what she'd like to do to this guy. She follow's Sunny's expression to see who's there.

"Uh, Sylvi? There are mice riding sewing machines outside. Is there something happening?"

"Ah, that's my bad" Sunny says Then pauses "That is, if the mice have yellow hats"

Mike clearly looks angry, and stunned both. He knew about his father berating his mom. He did not know the asshole HIT her

Dagmar tromps the rest of the way downstairs. "They aren't hurting anything, just.. it was weird? Hey, you're new."

So new she GLOWS... almost litterally... she has more of a gold to her spirals than the often seen red, though she has some of those too. Sunny's hair also has a single yellow streak in the usual white mane and likely will forever now, at least to enchanted eyes

Sunny says "holy shit, do you all just get bigger each time I see a new troll?"

"Okay - chrysalid? That'd do the sewing-mouse derby, I bet. Hi."

"She just hatched. Sunny, this is Dagmar. Yes, another troll. Dagmar, this is Sunny, and this is her son, Mike. He got caught up in the excitement," referring to the enchantment on the kinain.

Mike is clearly Kinian, nocker blooded. "Hey"

"Here..." Sunny says, "For your trouble I.. son of a bitch" SLips out of her mouth as she hands some clothes over to Sylvi " Why did the stocking shrink? Your legs will freeze"

"Huh? You didn't have to..." She takes a look at the clothing.

"Hey." Upnod.

"The stockings are supposed to be full length..." SHe grouses "How the furk did I miscacluate that?"

Sylvi smiles. "Wow, that's a look. And don't worry...my boyfriend is going to be thrilled with me showing that much thigh."

"You'll freeze your caboose off hon" She warns "But your call"

Mike says "COOL axe" At Fly swatter

"Listen, though...that's a thing you've gotta get used to. Nockers tend to be brilliant at making things that nobody's ever thought of...but that brilliance sometimes comes with some unpredictable parts. Like...you know the Greek myth about the woman trying to weave a perfect rug, but she insulted the gods?"

"Like, she tried to make it too perfect, too godlike?"

"Greek gods sound incredibly insecure" Sunny observes

"You're not wrong. But anyway, the gods punished her for her...what is it...hubris, right. And so artisans put an intentional flaw in their work so they won't piss off the gods. Nocker work comes out like that whether you do it on purpose or not."

"So, you know, bonus -- you won't be pissing off any divine powers."

"They are..." She holds out Flyswatter (not handing it over) for the kid to inspect.

"That's a halberd, Mike" Sunny corrects "A pole arm. Gives a lot more reach than most axes." She turns to Sylvi "Oh great.. I'm always gonna miss a detail, or fudge something? That's.. furking frustrating. I got so many ideas I want to try, my head is BURSTING with them"

Mike touches Flyswatter, "Damn... looks razor sharp"

"I hone it weekly. Don't want to do it too often - can weaken it."

"Nockers gotta make stuff as much as trolls gotta protect. Way of things."

"You know weapons, Sunny?" Sylvi looks a bit surprised.

"And yeah, you're probably never going to be totally satisfied with anything you make, but that'll just give you reason to keep making new stuff."

"I think frustration is like a battery for nockers."

"My ex fancied himself a macho expert on history and war... so, like a good little wifey, I studied up on it. It wasn't my thing, but I learned enough to know he was full of shit. He didn't know a main gauche from a claymore"
