Piper hovers in the hallway, trying not to fret or peek in the doorway. The last time she peeped someone threw something at her head.

She is wary, but before saying anything, she listens. Does the strange contraption make any discernable tick-tick-rattle-thump-crunch, the type of background clatter that would doom a proper recording?

She gives a little tentative tap on the door frame. "How's it going in there?"

"furking great" Coilqueen 17 declares

Piper winces at the sound.

"Um... is there a way to, uh. While it's still... um."

"The thing is, ah."

"Oh" Wudlig closes the wall.. wait.. it was IN the wall? Suddenly, smooth as silk, there is a seemingly seamless wall with only the tiniest knob, and it's quiet

WHY WOULD THEY EVEN HAVE A "NOISE ON" KNOB?!

"Told you I was good at hiding stuff. I hid any excess sound" He smirks

Calming that little twitch from her eye corner, she has to laugh. "It's... ingenious." She admits.

"The wiring inn this place is 3.14 times more efficient..." Coilqueen taps and shows her how it works

"It... it's so neat." She admires, remembering the fearsome tangle she inherited. "How did you manage to clear up all of the excess adapters? Oh, you even got the floor pickups installed! That will REALLY make a difference with the reverb."

"Yeah, see, I figured I better make it so easy even a satyr could do it" CQ17 tells her kindly "Cause that's the kind of nice wench I am"

"She knows her acoustics" Wudlig admits

A grin to Wudlig. "I'll let Freeholder Sylvi know about your specialty as well, Wudlig. She might want to have some hidey holes in place."

"huh?" He blinks then nods "Oh sure sure ...asking is best"

That's an odd way to phrase it, but... okay.

"You're both lifesavers. I totally owe you one... or several."

"Yeah well, discounts for new holds... " Coilqueen 17 says "We each told Bertrand we'd go furkingg easy on you"

"Sides," Wudlig admits "Every nocker wants to make their stamp on a new hold"

"If we ever have anyone actually record an album here that gets distributed, we'll be sure to credit your masterpiece." A grin.

"Actually..." She looks curious. "Is there a way to hide... like a hallway? No. That's not what I mean. I mean..." She takes a moment to think about it.

"So, the upstairs areas are mostly all mortal friendly. Not like, open to the public, but we'll have dreamers and such in and out of these areas. But downstairs is where the actual freehold kicks in.

There is a doorway between the two - for now I just had construction caution tape up. And we can mark it as off limits, but... there might still be the chance of some rube bumbling through the wrong doorway."

"What if there was like, if A mortal opened that door, they ended up somewhere else? "

"Veils could work, too, but those have to be reset and fed., and I don't have that voodoo myself."

"Hornhead," Wudlig grins, "That's my specialty"

A grin! "Now, not to dump them in a prison or anything or outside, but like, just like a hallway that kicks them back out the way they came? Or, like... a broom closet."

"Sure... you want it either redirrecting or so ordinary looking they walk on. here... let me show you some schematics"

She trots along willingly! Calling back to CoilQueen - "Help yourself to a soda or something, I left change by the machine!"

"Sure..." She goes to the machine where she is sure to get... well, that's the adventure isn't it?

Of course, that's not all that happens at the hold...

A woman in her mid twenties seems to be arguing with a family member in her late teens. Both mortal.. the older one? Known to PIper as one of the Strippers at the club she DJs for

"Hey!" She waves with a chipper tone. "It's Brandi, right?"

"Yeah " Brandi smiles.. though obviously that's the name she gives at the club. Amazing how many strippers have two or three names to use , or then again, given the risk of stalkers, maybe not "This is my cousin...."

"Racy!" the teenager cocks a hip out to strike a pose... only to get swatted by Brandi

Brandi says "Stop that. This is Patrice. She's got dancing skills but she is NOT cut out to work at the club and I don't just mean her age"

Patrice glares "I can too. I'm not stupid"

"You almost had sex with a guy because he told you it was 'painful' to stop once he got worked up" Brandi reminds, "You're good at tap dancing, okay at erotic, but you are way too naïve"

A WINCE at that descriptor. "I get it, I do. I've been conned by an attractive face more than once. I'm Piper, by the way... I'm uhhhh. ...Manager, here."

"Nice to meet you, Piper," Patrice holds out her hand "My cousin thinks I'm a child." A huff

"How old are you, Racy?" She asks, betting on getting a little bit on the girl's good side by using her chosen name.
