"Tell me what you have in mind?" Piper tears the sheets from her notepad to give to Bertrand, and also fetches him a soda from the cooler if he wishes.

"Or I think there's coffee, it's been on the burner for a couple hours though." She sniffs at the pot.

"Oh sorry" he says "I blanked out.. see, there's .. I was hoping to use a glass to catch a song from you and play it later, with the gift of pan. Did I understand you can put any type of emotion? Can you put in inspiration?"

"Of course. Any particular flavor, or pure, 'desire to create'? Mind, it might need to be touched up, unless you can..." She stops, blushing. "I don't mean to tell you how to do your work." A grin. "Was just thinking about how light can, you know, be reflected by mirrors and bounce around? You might extend it that way."

"If there's a way to make sound behave like light. Now that's beyond the high school classes I actually finished." She admits.

"Well, see... it's for a group of nockers who are.. not just grumps, but heavy with banality.. barely create anymore. I.. one of them is my great uncle. I want him to have just one more moment of creation"

"And Gift of pan lowers banality, right? So ... that plus your knack for infusing would work. SOund check I don't know so much about but.. would if you're able, then I think you can pay me."

“I can do that.” She’s perhaps not sure, but she is determined. “I can find a way. Just let me know when and where, and if they have a preference for song genre.”

"Well, I figured you'd sing into my craft , and the item would repeat it for them with full power. Pretty sure I can do it. Store it up"

“What type of music do your friends prefer? It helps if it’s something they relate to.”

He pauses "I.. honestly don't know... how are you at Rockabilly?"

That makes her think for a moment, then she says, "Lemme check something." And races out of the room. Looking to see if she can round up Etsy and Linwood, if they happen to be around.

Etsie seems to have made a second home here now and then.

"Seen Lin' around, Ets? I need to do an impromptu concert." A grin, NOW she is in her medium.

"Linwood? Sure..." She taps on a studio door "Linwood.. show time"

"uh.." he peeks out "What?"

"I need your help, Linwood." A grin "It's for the Studio. Can you take your keyboard, and Ets', your electric, to Recording room 1?" Not the tthey need to be numbered, yet, there's only one set up... "I'll meet you there in a minute."

"Sure.." he says

"mmm you'll owe us one" Etsie grins

She waves, and moves on. Swinging by where the boggan-led construction crew is working on a stairwell... they slow down when she comes into view, and she smiles. "Sorry to interrupt, but any chance one of you fine fellows can lay down a drumbeat?"

One female boggan holds up a hand shyly

"Could I bother you to help me out for a few minutes?" Piper gives her a hopeful grin.

She looks at the others "Uhm.. Uncle is it okay if I..."

"Go on" he nods

And she follows

"What's your name? I'm Piper, if I didn't introduce earlier..." As they walk.

"My fae name's Pinja.. it's Estonian" A shrug "uhm.. I'm kind of rusty"

"Hey, not a problem. I really appreciate the help, you know? Even a rusty beat is still something to tap a hoof to." Encouraging smile.

And soon they're gathered

"Sorry for the wait, Bertrand. I had to get the band together!"

She checks that all is set up, and then fetches her own acoustic guitar. Someone, she's not sure who... had found a drum set on Greg's List that a frazzled parent was willing to let go cheap. It's not professional grade, but good enough for now.

"We're going to be playing three Rockabilly classics. That means a harmony between acoustic and electric, and Linwood, I'll need you to use keyboard effects to add slap bass. I've heard you do a proper slap-n-pop, now we just need to set it to the rhythm. My new friend Pinja here will be laying down the drumline, and Bert will be recording."

A deep breath, and she exhales.

"This will be Goldfinch's first concert... no pressure!"

but she touches the drumset, and makes sure it's tight and ready

Linwood nods "Got it"

Etsie grins "Which three?"

"Damn.. you just.. dug up a band" Bert seems impressed

"Train keep a'Rollin, Rock around the Clock, and Good Rockin' Tonight." She hands out sheet music - the ancient printer whirrs. "I looked for three that felt like they had a "Keep on Truckin' vibe."

Bert gives a thumbs up

"Ideally we'd have brass, but I think we can get a good sound none-the-less."

She inhales, exhales, checks her tuning on the guitar... and looks to Bertrand. "You ready?"

And to her 'band'. "All set?"

Betrand has taken a bit of glass, a circular one "Ready"

"Ready" Linwood is always most comfortable with music than socialization

Estie grins "I was born ready... so very very long ago"

Pinja nods nervously

She starts up the song, letting the notes play as an intro to get everyone ready, and tapping her hoof to set the beat for Pinja, smiling reassuringly to the boggan in particular.

A nod to Linwood, and a wink to Etsie.

"And a one, two, one-two-three-four...."

And they play, the first song, solid! And yes , magic!

Into the next song, getting the swing of things!
