Symon hisses a laugh. “Just watch how well voting has gone in mortal lands.”

Rikki holds up her hand

"Yeah. So...in theory I'm good with a vote, but in practice? Not so much. How about this...I talk to people, find out who might be interested, and then choose who comes next."

"Rikki?"

Symon looks like he has something to say, but he keeps his thin lips shut.

"I vote a million votes for Symon .. or suggestt you draft him. He's reallhy fond of me, obviously but besides that, he gets unseelie... he IS on your side even if he's a thorn in it... and ... he LOVES the idea. That's important. "

And then chokes on his Mountain Dew

"Um...actually, he's pretty high on my list, yeah. Sorry, Symon," she adds with a shrug.

"Damn Bro, sucks to be you" Dirk says

Piper suggests, “cart before the horse, maybe. It might be enough for now that folk know how you plan for succession. But, it’s like, day 2.”

Zane says "I'd say Piper, and not just because she's my cousin. Have you guys seenn how much sshe LOVES this place?"

Siv lets loose a breath of air "THANK god someone else said it"

Piper pales and looks like she might wish she was a bird again, with an open window.

“That’s NOT why I'm helping!”

Sylvi nods to Piper, "Yeah, it's too soon to get all those details worked out. But let's say this -- I don't plan on being freeholder here for more than three years, max. It should probably be less than that, more like one year. We'll figure out how before that point."

Shrug. "You found it."

"Chica's a bit on the shy side for the job" Lola says "For a satyr"

She puts a hand on Piper's shoulder. "Nobody's saying that's why you're helping, Piper," she says quietly.

"Year and a day" Zane says "Mystical rules if you want it clsoe to a year, make it 'annd a day'"

"Maybe, Zane, but then it's sort of going to move all around the calendar over time. Might not be a bad thing, though."

“Sorry.” She whispers to Sylvi.

Symon nods. “The length of a normal oath. See what happens. Can always be extended, or changed with the seasons. Used to be that rulers respected summer and winter in turn. Lots of options if you're open to consider them. But not tonight.”

"So let's put the question of succession on the back burner," she nods.

"Or pick a high holiday? Beltaine and Samhain mark transfers of power..."

Symon grins up Dagmar as they have the same thought.

"Fuck with everybody, do it at Lughnasadh...."

A rasp of laughter.

Rikki looks.. a wee bit impressed at that

She laughs at Dagmar throwing a wrench in the machine of tradition.

"Listen, I do want to go back to the discussion of Dreamers...." She waits for the conversation on succession to ebb.

Piper looked about to ask Sylvi something in an aside, but waits.

It does ebb

She nods. "Okay, like we said before, Escheat holds here, but I can't emphasize this enough: Upstairs, we're going to have a lot of mortals being at their most vulnerable while they're creating. If you're going to travel through there to get down here, you gotta do everything in your power not to mess with their process or whatever. And I highly recommend keeping an eye out for others to bring in. I mean...okay, it seems obvious now thta I'm saying it, but we haven't really had a center like this before where the Dream work can happen in one place, y'know?"

Dirk's brow knits "Ainn't musin messing with the process, in a way?"

"And while I'm talking about Upstairs, the top floor is kind of unfinished. Nothing much going on up there yet, but I can tell you I'm thinking of using that spot to get some school work done when I need to, and you're welcome to join me if you want."

Sylvi considers Dirk's question. "I guess, but only in the way that gardening is messing with the flowers. If we help them to grow while keeping them healthy and sane, we're in good shape."

"So we CAN Muse?" Dirk double checks. This is going a bit fast

Piper looks grateful that Sylvi answered that one.

She nods to Dirk, though. “That’s the plan.”

Symon narrows his eyes a bit at the stage, but holds his (worm) tongue.

Piper says in an undertone to Sylvi, “Mind if I take a second?”

Sylvi nods to Piper. "Go ahead."

Rikki grows visibly attenive

A breath. “When you start looking around, please - don’t get discouraged. Look at what can be, what once was, not what is. I know it’s rough - the Studio, not the Freehold. A lot of it will get improved - cleaned, straightened, organized. But the bones need work too. It takes a village… I’m not asking anyone to empty their pockets or put themselves out. But to be honest, it needs help. I’m going to do a lot of the elbow grease grunt work myself… and do research on fundraising and the best and cost effective ways to do a lot of what’s needed.

“Any help anyone wants to offer, is welcome, even just advice or recommendations… but the sooner we get things fixed up, the sooner we can invite in Dreamers. And not JUST dreamers, either. I hope we’ll have resources for anyone who wants to use them, to create, study, teach.”

"Dirk and I learned some shit in shop, might be useful."

"Oh yeah" Dirk says "We did"

“Sylvi will need to decide how much mortal involvement she wants.” Piper says, deferring, “I’m helping run… manage… whatever, the Studio end, but she’s still the freeholder. Maybe there could be ways to draw in money, but not if it crosses the line on what she wants Goldfinch to be, both studio and freehold.”

Sylvi nods emphatically. "Yup. Piper's in charge of everything that has to do with the studio and upper spaces. I want to help there, and I have _ some_ know-how, but not a ton. I'm hoping the builders and, yeah, like Dagmar and Dirk say, people with skills will realize that this is their place, too, and be willing to help."

Romana blushes "As a boggan I cann gett a lot of cleaning done in a short time . I'll help you, Piper if you want? I know you don't know me well but..."

"So far I really like Piper's ideas on the Studio side of it," Sylvi offers the endorsement.

Sylvi nods to Piper about Romana.
