Sylvi nods at Piper's words. "That's what I'm trying to say. It's ours...and it only stays ours if we do what we need to do."

Basil frowns, tthen nods "Okay, sold. Add me to your options for guard duty"

Sylvi nods to Basil. "Excellent, and thank you. And if you're not sure now," she says to the others, "you can still volunteer later."

Tikki says "Where there is darkness, there must be light" Annd raises his hand

"Now, here's another thing, and I think this also is a reason we want to keep this place safe. Upstairs is going to be a working recording studio, and Piper's already got one Dreamer almost lined up to practice there. So that means a freehold in close proximity to Dreamers. It's going to be an amazing place to muse!"

Rikki rolls her eyes

Sylvi grins and gives Tikki a thumbs up.

Piper looks a little discouraged as Rikki reacts.

"Maybe if folks didn't roll in here just to shit on things to be "cool" and cynical, they could be part of the damn freehold, too."

"Or whatever, they can pat themselves on the back for being too awesome." She rolls her eyes with a fair imitation of Rikki's posture.

“Um, yeah. That’s why I'm up here. I’m no freeholder or anything, but I helped find this place. And I can see the potential for dreamers of a big variety here. That could help a lot of people, and help us help them.”

Piper speaks to the crowd, not looking at Rikki for a minute.

Rikki chuckles at Dagmar "Your sluagh training is kickin in"

Sylvi looks at Rikki for a moment but doesn't say anything. She seems to be considering her, and then focuses on Piper's words.

Symon glares at Rikki. “Watch it, tree rat.”

Rikki throws her hands up "HEY, Geniuses... do you see how strong I gglow?" She isn't that full of glamour if any kens "I already put in my down payment on this condo.. annd I ALWAYS roll my eyes at my brother. He's so lame handicap lanes openn for him. So before you slap the blackhat on me, why not look at what I've given into the charity box?"

Sylvi nods. "And there it is. We're going to piss each other off, guys. That's just how it is. It's like I said before...I'm not going to tell you how to act. Just take care of the flame and the freehold. That's what it's all about."

Lucia and Romona talk quietly

Piper speaks up. “I know it can be hard for you to be understood. Pooka haven’t always been treated kindly for their pranks, even when meant in good nature. I hope that this might be a more understanding kind of place. Within reason.” Though she looks to Sylvi, not wanting to speak out of turn.

“And needing glamour is what this place should help with. It’s a Safe Space for dreamers who may not have a place of their own to create in”

Dagmar's jaw twitches a bit, but she's back to being quiet.

Sylvi nods at Piper's words. "Lodge life isn't for everybody, and I know the Chieftain can come down like a load of bricks when people overstep. This is going to be a different kind of space, if we make it one."

Symon speaks up. “Where does your loyalty lie? Rivervale Lodge, or Dark Gate, or this new place? What happens if you.. find another opportunity? Move onto the next best thing?”

Not accusatory, but matter of fact.

Rikki sighs "Look... you guys say Unseelie will be worshiped as gods,but all I knnow is that the only one who hasn't givenn me shit for being Pookanormative winter edition is the goat pooka over there" She points at Piper "But this is IMPORANT to goat pooka girl... okay? So I'm here" Resigned

Piper mouths a thank you to Rikki, even as she flashes a look to Symon, startled. “Of course she’s loyal to her freehold! How can you ASK that?”

Sylvi looks a bit stung at Symon's words, but she swallow and nods. "Reasonable questions. So first...yes, I'm a Rivervale girl. If my family calls, I go to them. If that creates a conflict with this hold, I'll step aside. And that means we need to figure out a system for transfering from one freeholder to another, It shouldn't be a permanent title."

Lucia huffs at Symon, her feathers frizzing

"I was giving you shit for being a jerk, not for being an unseelie pooka. Let's be very clear on that."

"But sure, only Piper. Whatever." She pushes her seat back and rises.

"This is the first hold that Sylvi's been bound to. I assure you, Symon, that's very different" Zane says

“Dags?” Symon whispers to her alone, holding the back of her chair. “I think e we owe it to Sylvi to at least hear them out.”

"I've sworn oaths to protect holds before. But I've never claimed a balefire as freeholder before. Like Zane says...it's really different."

"This ain't a hold for me, anyways, and I'm gonna get mad and that won't help."

Sylvi realized Dagmar's getting up. "Dagmar?" She looks concerned, but resigned. "I'd really like you to stay."

Rikki sighs then opens her mouth

To Symon, low tone.

to dagmar, Rikki says "Look, you're right. I DO try to be cool and I'm sorry it came out jerk. Please stay. "

and it looks like she had to focus

Then Sylvi blinks, startled, at Rikki. That must have taken a lot.

A grunt, and she sits back down. "Okay."

“Part of making a hold that's open to everyone is that is open to everyone. If they are claiming that, e we gotta hold them to it. And you're part of everyone, and you belong here as much as anyone. You’re Sylvi’s friend. And this IS part of Rivervale. someone has to make sure it's done right. And that means that us that don't agree, for our own reasons, need to be here.”

Indeed, Rikki gets herself a drink as if she just did a hard sprint

Symon reasons to Dagmar.

But not privately, he may be overheard

"As for tranfering, maybe an Assitannt Freeholder?" Zane suggests "Someonee WE vote onn? In case you're not here, or something happens to you, Sylvi?"

She gives Dagmar a grateful grin and nod as she sits again. "Thanks, Rikki," to the pooka for the effort. "And thanks, Symon."

"So, okay...I like the idea of voting, but...okay, here me out before you jump on this, but I sort of floated that idea past the Chieftain because she was a freeholder once before she came to Rivervale. She said the whole voting thing in Firnost was a complete mess, and nobody was ever happy with the results. Do you think it could work here?"

"And I mean, we'd have to figure out who 'We' means. Who gets to vote?"

"So some asshole doesn't roll in and fix the vote - cause once someone HAS the fire, you can't force them out easy."

"I'm good with it, but I don't want it to be like mundane elections where people spend so much time trying to gain votes that they stop actually doing the work."

"Exactly," she nods to Dagmar.
