A moment. "No. I said home. I didn't suggest anywhere else. Maybe I should have offered the Pitt. Or Skyhook, they know Tweak...."

"So, to me, that sounds like a banishment from your domain, even if only temporarily. Your mileage may vary."

"Well...I think I know what I wanted to know, now." She moves to stand.

"You do?" still a little confused.

"Yes. I asked the Chieftain, but she did not say much other than you'd told her to leave. And that your father had chosen to leave as well."

Jess sighs. "Great." she mutters disconsolately.

A blink. "Did you explain to her why you were sending her home?"

"I didn't at the time, no. She wasn't herself.... didn't -seem- to be herself."

"So she wasn't able to tell me why, either. Now I understand better."

"I'll head back now."

"Ok." Jess stands. There's pain in her eyes.

Kerri turns and walks back to the door. "Do talk to her, and to your father. Sooner is probably better than later."

"Yes ma'am."

She puts a hand on the door, and pauses. After a moment, she says, "Jessica...the longer that Leanhaun goes unpunished, the more you risk having somebody else try to do something about it."

"I'm waiting for word from the Duke."

"Don't Wait." A serious look, and then she heads out.

Jess sits back down, stung, and although she's not in the habit of disobeying Kerri, she does take a moment to think things through.

Dame Ash looks in "Need more coffee or.. oh, she's gone."

"Yeah."

"You look a bit.. well, stung. Was there bad news?"

"Yeah. No. Not.. not really -bad- just... I messed up." With a sigh, she stands "I have to make a phone call."

"Okay. Let me know if you need help or even an open ear" She says kindly and leaves Jessica to her call

"Thanks." and Jess goes outside to make it.

And so she made her call to.... (?) 🙂
