Water first; she chugs. "Thanks."

"You're welcome" he says "Good run?"

She nods; needs her breath.

"Glad to hear it" he has the coffee ready for when she wishes it as a chaser, if she does . But he doesn'tr invite more conversation until she's gotten her breath back

After drinking the water, and catching her breath, she takes the coffee. "Thanks again. I'm going to get cleaned up."

"All right." He says but then almost as an aside "By the way... while you were out?"

"Um?" with a sense of foreboding.

He hears it in her tone, "You did ask me if anything important came up I should tell you. I'm not sure this qualifies, but you had a visitor... Mrs. Kerri Davidson? "

"Kerri?? Why, what's wrong? Is Rivervale ok?"

"She did not say it wasn't" he answers after considering things "She wanted to talk to you."

"Well.... she left?"

"She did" he says "She asked when you'd be back. I said I didn't know "

Jess bangs the coffee cup down before flinging her hands in the air. "Great."

"Not your fault, Diego. Excuse me, need to make a phone call."

"I am sorry for ruining your mood, jessica, but I thought you'd be upset if I didn't tell you she visited"

And he nods

"I would have. Like I said, it's not your fault." And she goes to make a phone call to the Lodge.

Diego nods, and gets himself a bit of mulled wine

Jess stands outside, dials.

It rings and picks up, but it's Sally Mae saying "King Residence, Sally mae speaking"

"Sally Mae, Jess. Is Kerri there?" urgently.

A moment then "Oh, Jess? Sorry, you just missed her. She's out shopping"

"What??" she sounds nonplussed.

"Shopping, I'm not sure which store" She says "Though there is a sale at Penny's"

"Is mom there? Or dad?"

"They were, but they headed off for the Kestrel. Haven't seen them go off flying for awhile" A beat "Jessica? Is everything okay? I thought they were going to be at your place a few days for a kind of working vacation?"

A sigh. "Yeah. Plans changed. Ok. Listen, can you tell Kerri I called?"

A beat "I'll leave a note for her "

"A note?" she caught the beat.

A brief pause then "She seemed.. agitated when she left. "

The hint being a note would be safer

"Agi...oh. OH, um... ok. Yeah. That's fine."

"Okay. You sure everything is okay?"

"Sally Mae.... I really don't know. But I'll let you know when I do."

Sally Mae says "Well that makes two of us then. I'll leave that note where she can't miss it"

"Thanks. Stay safe."

"You too. " And she hangs up.

Jess stares at the phone for a bit, then goes to get that shower.

The shower is cleansing, but not as soothing as it could be

For an instant, she thinks about Fontaine's pool.... but dismisses it. Others might need it more, and Fontaine has been hard-pressed recently.

That has eased somewhat, fortunately, but it may not change her mind

It does not. She gets cleaned and dressed and looks at her bed a minute... then leaves her rooms to see what else needs taking care of.

She finds Holger looking about

"Hello, Holger. Report."

"I.. am sorry, Countess. I seemed to have lost our guests!" He says "I put their luggage in their room, then it was taken away again. I think.. I fear we have a thief AND a kidnapper! But who could carry not one, but TWO grown trollss?"

"It's ok, Holger. I met with my folks, we talked, they left. All is well."

His face falls "But they were supposed to be here for at least a few nights. I was going to talk to them about the dogs and..." A frown "I hoped to show them our proud hold. They always treat me so kind , it feels wrong not to return the favor while they were here. And now they are gone?"

A small smile. "They're only a door away, Holger. They will come back. And you will go there."
