The cells are a closed area; muffled in many ways.Jess is NOT happy about being here, or these places being here, but... they are. There are a few Nunnehi prisoners here; the remnants, the hard-core resistants. They have food, water, blankets, and what entertainment (reading) they can have.

Indeed, sometimes music is played here by one of the troubadours, though not today

Brekke follows Jessica's path. She is focused on their goal; otherwise, she might pause and attempt conversation with the Nunnehi.

One GLARES at her with hate. Stubborn

Focused. She truly does not notice.

Jess stops where's appropriate. "Squire." quietly.

Brekke halts and waits, watching.

A voice from the back of a cell, "'Your EXCELLENCY'" A hiss

the woman is lovely, but Jessica can see she has gray hairs where before she did not

Jess looks away.

A brief glance at Jessica's turn of the head, and Brekke steps forward and stares at the woman. Her expression is stony, but there's a deep, angry flame behind it. Silence.

"And who, do we have here?" She rises from her cell "Another troll visitor?"

"Oh, not just any troll visitor," she says, low and dangerous.

Jess steps back, but not away.

"Yes, yes, I'm sure like mostr of your brutish race you're a powerful warrior AND a loyal lap dog to some seelie house" She sighs "Tedious really...unless you have some link to the countess or more importantly her murderous father? I don't much care"

She tilts her head slightly to one side. "Then it is time for you to care." Each word slow and precise.

A confused look, for there is no family resemblence and then... "You're her... his wife"

A single slow nod, and silence. She waits to see what the captive will say next.

"Well, how interesting to meet you. I DO hope your husband knows pain every moment of every day and I deeply regret I couldn't kill your and his daughter... yet" True

A carefully controlled breath that almost comes out as a growl, but not quite. "I am gratified that you have known nothing but failure, and will continue to fail if given any chance."

She eyes the bars between herself and Brekke, then looks at the falcon on her chest, "Your daughter was so grossly incompetent that a childling had to save the day. I wouldn't be too proud of her"

"She baits you." Jess says, matter of factly.

"I am proud of a daughter who has surrounded herself with wise people, whatever the seeming."

A brief nod to Jessica. "It is the wrong bait."

"Oh if I wanted to bait Mrs. King, I'd call her an honorless bitch who let a muderer mount her routinely enjoying the smell of Leanhaun blood in her nostils while she cowered and cuddled under him"

And Brekke feels her gwydion rage threaten to burst

Brekke feels her rage threaten, barely, then smooth away. Folks try this Gwydions when they're behind a barrier

The rage is close. A snarl...that turns into a toothy half-grin. "That would have done it...if it were not completely incorrect."

Brekke first, then her daughter both realize that wasn't just provication for fun sake

The Squire was trying to trigger a rage in the Chief so that she attacked the one person who wasn't behind bars... her own daughter.

It was a long shot murder attempt, but it was another murder attempt nevertheless

"Step away, mom. Step away. Now." No Art to command it... just Jess.

Brekke turns and glares at her daughter a moment. "I am FINE."

Jess turns, her full body, but without threat, to Brekke. "I know. Me too. Please?"

Brekke knows she is not likely to be provoked soon now that she's resisted so recently. One can't trigger a Gwydion just by trying a new insult every 20 seconds... though some Gwydions act like it will to discourage such stupid games

But in another five minutes? Ten? The Leanhaun can try again

A heavy exhale, and a tense moment...then she squares her shoulders and steps away, past Jessica, giving the Leanhaun a dark glare.

The leanhaun laughs "Oh well, your ire is a decent enough bronze medal. Do visit again!"
