Wait a minute. A string is hooked to the propped stick? Salma traces the string, looking to see where the other end goes.

It is this stroke of genius that has Salma back track the string. It goes back back back... and then up up up a set of shelves. All the way to the top, but it's huge, like... seven feet up there. And whoever is on top of this dresser is laying low so not to be seen from below.

Salma silently puts a finger to her lips and gestures for Ellie and Ariel to join her and take hold of the string!

Ariel does so

All hands!

She mimes a yank on the string, and mouths... "Uno... dos... tres!" Giving a strong TUG on three!

TUG!

"Oh Balderdash and Kitten whiskers!" a girl cries out as she finds herself falling falling... she's a rolly polly girl, and Ellie, Salma, and Ariel are below her. This leads to quite the spectacular moment as as the big girl's shadow passes over them...

And being bright, both Ellie and Salma and yes, Ariel too, realize the girl is about to LAND on them!

...perhaps knocking over stick in the process.

"Wait, who's that?"

Salma dives to protect the box, hitting the stick and... finding herself in darkness with a churro and a book. Only the darkness part truly frustrates for as she said earlier, a box with light and a book is really just a cozy reading nook

Ariel tries to catch, forgetting this is an enemy. It's a bold move, Cotton, let's see if that pays off for her

And Ellie? Well, she gets a better look at the new girl. she's a pooka, roundish but also with antanee, and she has, to enchanted eyes, legs that almost look fused , and her body touched green and garish yellow on the sides

She also lands on Ariel and possibly her, if Ellie doesn't step back

(Girl might look a little something like this)

"Ack!" Squashed!

"Ow" Ariel says.

"Hey, I got her!" The caterpillar girl says looking at the box, then looks to Ellie "So by the rules of the land, I can be your pooka friend now? That's what everyone is saying"

It should be said, Salma knows this is a very good Churro

Ariel blinks "Wait, you're trying to replace Salma? NO One can replace Salma" She gets a bit huffy

"Wait, what?" Muffled.

Shuffling!

Ack. Trapped in a box!

"What? No!"

"But Everyone says so" The Catepillar girl says

"Wait," Ariel says "WHO is everyone?"

The girl blushes "Well, Everyone is a scrawny dingy boy with skull face make up . I asked if I could visit the Countess of childlings and Everyone said they were all full up on Pooka"

The churro is gone, and now the box is feeling a little less... pleasant.

She can't even read her book

"Por favor, I would like out now. Or maybe I live here forever?"

"Salma is my friend. I am not giving her up. But where is the rule that I can only have one pooka friend?"

"We're coming!"

The 'other pooka', who really needs a name, is off them and dusting herself "But Everyone said..."

"Ahpuch is gonna get APUNCHED" Ariel huffs, and moves with Ellie to the sides of the box "Ready to lift when you are"

"On three..."

The other pooka girl goes to a third side, and then... on THREE.. .all three lift!

It is a big cardboard box, but no match for the power of team work!

Salma has her eyes covered. To hide from the dark, si?

And suddenly Salma is in light

"Salma!" Ellie thuds into the pooka with a hug.

"Qué pasa?" She asks, as though nothign has happened.

Ariel hugs the other side

"Oh, odds and bodkins and other vendors of note" The Catterpillar pooka gulps at Salma "Please don't take terrible revenge upon me, all I did was try usurp your position as pooka pal in the Court of the Purple Countess."
