"Countess" she dares speak "I bear a message"

Jessica nods back. "I will hear your message, and I hope you'll take some refreshment before you continue with your duties."

"I thank you." She seems pleased by the offer of hospitality but continues promptly "Baron Tidemarch sends word that mainland nunehi and Mer have engaged in war again, but, unfortuantely, the Mer also seem to be mistaking our Nunehi allies as allied with the Mainlander insurgents."

Jess thinks about this a moment "Are they? Allied, I mean?"

"I..." She stops, "Pardon. It is easy to get terms confused here. The peace seeking nunehi we have been aiding, if I understand correctly, are still considered traitors by the mainlander Nunehi. So they are at odds. The Mer do not know this, and treat all Nunnehi alike.. as enemies"

Jess nods. "Yes. But I wonder if the common enemy in the Merfolk might not have brought the fromerly-brothers of the Nunnehi tribes back into alliance."

'Not yet, Baron Tidemarch has interceded as much as he dare by warning our allies away from the shores and explaing matters. We are reluctant to attack Mer even to defend our allies for fear of undoing the work of our Selkie help who are trying to create inroads"

Jess nods. "What does Sunkissed Waves need?"

"Policy. If a choice is forced, and we MUST attack the Mer to save our Nunnehi allies, he wishes to be sure he will have your support however reluctant. Otherwise we can not guarentee safety for said allies"

"A 'worst case scenerio'" She explains

She nods. "The Baron has it. We wish for peace with the Mer, the mainland Nunnehi, and our local friends. We have no formal alliance with any... but if we have to pick, we will pick our local strength."

A nod "Thank you, Countess. I bear witness to your statement and will pass it on. " She bows "Is there anything else you wish me to pass on?"

"Thank you. Ask the Baron when it would possible for me to come and visit myself, please."

She seems surprised, but bow/nods quickly "of course, as you direct, I shall so do. Do you wish me to race straight back now to do so?"

"No, feel free to takes some refreshment if you wish. I would like to visit, but if I needed to do so immediately I'd already be on the way."

A nod "Very well, your excellency. I thank you for your hospitality to a messenger"

"Renaissance is here to take care of the Fae in the area, not the other way around. Thank you for your service."

She bows once more "An honor it is to serve." And she withdraws, presumably to get repaste

Jessica gets out some maps of the coast line and looks them over refreshing her memory.

Most of it is on Sunkissed barony but here and there a spot.

And there's a notation that says Pacifica Nobles frequent intrusion paths

A frown. She thinks.... has she heard of this? Nobles from Pacifica ..... intrusion sounds a lot like invasion....

Jess looks at the area indicated. Where is it in relationship to Fenix?

San Diego /Tijuana border in the water mostly...

She might have someone who can tell her more about it. Constance may have more records

Thus she will seek out Constance.

Taking the map with her.

Constance is in the study but she looks up "Jessica, how are you?"

"Good. Say, do you know anything about this?" she shows her the map.

Constance considers, then in trollish fashion says "It appears to be a map"

"I do recall it though, yes"

"Are nobles from Pacifica intruding into Renaissance?"

"Oh, well, yes, they're entering your waters. I have multiple witnesses to that. Including your sister, though she pointed out technically so was she. To be fair, enforcement of the water parts of the County are ... iffy? But the races and other shenanigans while very fun for the nobles do disrupt some of our fishermen"

A deeper frown. "I assume Baron Tidemarch is aware of this?"

"I believe he is. I don't know what actions if any he is taking."

She nods. "I think I should make a visit."

"Would you like me to make a note in our schedule of the time you'll be doing so?" She offers

"Sure. Right the heck now." Jess nods, and takes the map to go pick up her maul and some supplies before heading out to the barony of Sunkissed Waves.

She does have one of his messengers here having some food. The messenger might want to go back with her so she is not seen as slacking

Tidemarch can be a stickler like that

A short huff, and Jess goes to find the girl.

The wilder is finishing up a small meal and drink, but she rises as soon as the Countess comes into view to bow "Thank you again for the services of your fine staff, your excellency"

"You're welcome. Have you had a sufficiency? Can we offer you more?" Kerri taught her hospitality; the questions are sincere.

She beams at this "I thank you, but that is more than sufficient. And I should get back to my liege to pass on your message"

"Actually, I'll go with you."
