She thinks.... anyone voice an interest in the kind of thing Rovers do?

"Before you think too much about it, I also should say we're not just talking trod work. Autumn world has paths, roads and so on too. They have travelers who need protecting also." He shrugs 'Heck, other Rovers had me ask your dad but he shot me down"

Her thoughts MIGHT be disrupted by that revelation

"I can't think of anyone off the top of my head but you can certainly ask around."

"He was nice about it..." A nod

She knows Mitra has an excess of young bucks lately, the arena almost crowded for action

"If you're looking for combat skills, you check look at the Pitt. Baroness Mitra has a few that might be available."

"Yeah? She's your friend isn't she?"

"She is."

"Good. You need those. It can be hard to tell from way up in apples, but sometimes you seem a bit lonely here, even in a crowd. It's reassuring to know you've got friends , or at least a friend to turn to. Your mom and Aunt Kerri are too well bred to bring it up. Me? I can be all obnoxious and..what's the word? avuncular" Food is set down before them... and the boggans vanish again.

"They really are. But we couldn't survive without them." Jessica takes a bite. "Go ahead, eat. They like to see that."

"Yes, I have friends. Everyone can relax." she adds dryly.

He eats, and chuckles at her dry tone "I'm semi retired, fussing over the younger generation gives me fulfillment... all right all right. I made voice to it, you gave me the facts. All good. I'm glad you've got folks to lean on in more than boss lady over subordinates way. "

"I try very hard to make sure all credit is shared, and that we work together here for the good of all." she says, seriously.

"You're proud of them, and you're right to be. You got a good team here. I don't mention it much because you don't always seem comfortable with praise, but I've hit the silver around here enough times, and know enough Spanish to know that the folks of this County praise not just you, but your thanes and others working with you. Even the redcaps, who terrify most folks, are considered a positive by folks around here. The town meetings? I've sat in on those once or twice .. . in the back. You give them a voice, you take them seriously and they can tell. "

"Well props to him then, like I said, the folks around here love ya, but they're also fond of your team." A glass salute to her, "Look, I may be snatching some folks from the area, at least part time. I'm no Seelie, but I do play favorites and as you are on that list, is there anything I can do for you or yours around here?"

"Most of my efforts right now are geared towards peace. Mainland natives have declared war on us and the local Nunnehi, even those that don't really ally with us. And then the Mer are involved as well, so it feels like it's a war on two fronts."

"Merfolk? " A brow lift "You want me to ask Siv to pry around there in the ship? I know she can get on your nerves sometimes, but she is your sister and would help if you asked. As for me... what I can do is pry about some of the sea trods. Not my usual venue, but if we learn where they go... it might show you just how many 'fronts' you got"

"Siv occured to me... but no, I don't want her involved. If you can learn anything about the sea trods or what's going on there, that would be helpful. Have you met Abuelita at the Pitt?"

"Big feather dragon thing right? Seen her"

"Ok, good. And you know Mitra, right?"

"Met her when she was working here" A nod "Not crazy about Eiluned normally but she's okay"

"Ok, then." She nods and finishes her food "Everything else ok?"

"Oh geez, well, first I should say everyone sends their love. Your dad would be annoyed if I forgot that. "

"Thanks. Please give mine right back at them."

"As for other things.. well, weirdest thing.. Jo Jo got sick. Siv went on a quest to restore him. Apparently there was some crazy plot to take flavor from all the coffee in Concordia.... "

Jess blinks. "When was this?"

He names the time

"Now she didn't do it alone. Adam or Eimir or whatever his sidhe name is helped out. WHich was a surprise as we worried he was lost. Still credit where it is due, it was a Fiona team up that worked"

"Apparently the story is legit, more than one person in Bergen reported bland coffee. My wife among them. Fresh pot, suddenly tepid. Then good again"

"It happened here, too. The kitchen ladies were quietly apoplectic."
