This leads Jess to wonder reluctantly how the mainland Nunnehi sleeping it off in Fenix might react if she were to wear that... priestess regalia when she meets with him.

A good question. While not her usual gear she was told she looked smashing in it

"Thank you." she whispers to the Dreaming and the Balefire. Time here always helps. She goes back to see Otem and ask him about it.

She finds Otem . The boggans have attacked and it looks like he was given a meal

She can't help a small smile at that. "Otem, another question about the mainland.... I hate using that phrase. The Jaguar-favored Nunnehi? Or ... well, not one question but whatever you can answer....?"

"Please, I will try to answer any question you have" he says "But becareful, Maria and Rosa are a bit like jaguars themselves and may..."

"Countess" Rosa gushes out of nowhere "Sit sit, I'll get a plate for you too"

"Um. Thank you, Rosa." she smiles and sits, then turns to Otem with a business expression. "You've heard of the, um, regalia I was gifted? Um... the priestess one?"

"AH yes" He nods seeming cautious in giving a response but he adds "A great honor"

"Do you think it would make any impact with the Jaguar-favored?"

"We have some of our own, so yes. " A nod

"But the Jaguar touched of the mainland see our group as traitors and are not as likely to heed us"

"What does being touched mean? Being Jaguar touched?"

"It is like. being a troll. It is who they are"

"You can tell them by their patterns along their skin, like Jaugars"

"Yes, but being a troll conveys certain abilities and tendencies; is it like that for them, and if so, what are they?"

"Militant, they prefer to strike from ambush and see no dishonor in that. They tend towards the athletic and zealous"

She nods. "Thank you, that helps. What do you think the impact of that, um, outfit would be on him?"

A plate is put down before Jessica. Some of her favs

"Thank you." absently, as is her wont when she is focused.

"De Nada" And the lady is off

Otem is thinking over her question "It... might stun him. He might be enraged, or very confused. It would show the respect the world itself has granted you"

"I'll take it. How should I address him?"

"Warrior would be respectful, as would 'Son of the Jaguar'"

She nods and repeats those phrases to fix them in her memory.

"My thought, based on our conversation earlier, was to tell him that he and I have no bad blood between us nor to I have any desire to hurt him or his people. That he will be escorted honorably to the border of my lands with food and drink, and sent home with a message for his people - that we will defend ourselves but do not plan to attack. That they might have an ally that seeks to deceive them about what we do here. That if they keep that ally they may find themselves betrayed. That I would welcome a true emissary to meet with on neutral ground. And then let him go to return to his people."

"What do you think?"

He ponders

"I do not think it will bring peace. It might delay the battle but even there I am not sure"

'But it will sow confession "

"Here's to our opponents in confusion." she salutes him with her drink.

He salutes back

with a soft but very sincere smile
