"Both possible. As a Liam he can be more openly defied if I understand right? But it is the town halls which will alarm folks the more effective they get. You're going to have to stand strong but then, when have you ever not?"

"Now, if we can get this Daireanne to go away...."

"I know someone to play the thief role. In fact, I'll get on it now" He rises

"Thank you." she moves on.

While it doesn't appear to be a threat, she does notice a chimera following her. A squirrel

She pauses, kneeling to 'tie her shoe'... and gives it direct eye contact as she does so.

the squirel is very grey save for the tail which is as colorful as a nocker's bottle brush

She cocks the King's eyebrow at it.

It cocks an eyebrow back

"Do you have business with me?" she murmurs, picking at a knot.

It chitters

She stands and waits to see what it will do.

it follows her, from a distance, but not too far.

She carries on with her patrol, then.

And it follows

She will maintain an awareness of it but also carries on her patrol.

Suddenly, it gives a shrill shrieking sound

She spins, looking for whatever alarmed it.

She spins and sees the Nunnehi on the roof, blowing a dart at her

She throws herself out of the way.

it misses and the nunnehi curses, trying to reload

Jessica turns around, spits, and stamps a foot, bunking for a hopscotch to take her to that roof.

And up she goes, the nunnehi drops the blow gun and reaches for a knife

But Jessica and her maul are already there

Jessica calls on him in Spanish "Drop your weapon and surrender." (as she must) but she is on guard and if he appears to do anything other than obey her, she strikes.

And strike she must, for the knife burns with black fire and he stabs at her, but she is ready

She swings two-handed, a controlled short arc; the maul's version of a bunt.

And whams him backwards... stumbling

She presses the attack; short, controlled jabs. Stomach, shoulder, shoulder, thigh. With her reach on him, maybe she can even hit his foot and if a few bones break there to make him clumsy and slow him down.... well, he can heal later. Not to destroy or kill him, but to disable and capture.

He stabs ...

but the squirel leaps on him and throws his aim off

And her blow knocks him out

She kicks the dagger out of his hands and away, and checks to make sure he's disarmed.

And glances at the squirrel "Thank you."

He's got a spare knife. She takes that too

the squirrel salutes.

"Will you come be my guest at Fenix?" she offers the chimera as she secures the nunnehi with whatever is at hand; a belt, his laces; hell, a strip from her own clothes if needed.

It bounds up her arm and clambers on her shoulder

Apparently a yes

She hoists the Nunnehi on the other shoulder, and veils them all before heading back in the most direct route to Fenix.

And back they go
