"Let me check, see if I have anything I should be doing." And she does.

She has some a town meeting summary to read over, and a note to send the Duke with updates... but both an wait if she likes

"Do you need an extra hand?"

"Need? Nope. But you're welcome to join in the hunt for the fun. Come on, boss, you need to stretch now and then"

She nods, picks up her maul, and heads out with the group.

It is oddly a fun experience. The redcap group includes Sir Phobos, and Demos, of course, but she meets some others she only knew a little off. They're rough and tumble, bullies to one degree or another, sure, because redcaps, but there's a friendly competition on who will find the creature, who will gut it... and it encourages each one to peak performance.

Minus the gutting, Jess recognizes the competition from her long-ago track meets; she can relate.

And the local satyrs in the area are grateful for the help!

And seem relieved that the Countess herself is involved

That makes her wonder Have I been neglecting patrols?

It is oddly Demos who seems to read her look "Boss, the goats are SCARED of this thing. It's not that you ain't around. they see you doing GENERAL Patrols all the time. But this patrol? the satyrs see as for them specifically...makes it more personal for them that you're leading it. YOu got two satyr friends... but otherrwise you don't do Satyr stuff. Most trolls don't and that's fine. But that means most satyrs see you as decent but indiff, right? You patrol for everyone, but don't care for satyrs. This? Shows you care for em sp;ecic. It matters'

Jessica frowns "It isn't that I don't care for satyrs. I do. I care for everyone here."

"Don't worry about their whining" Demos snorts "You know what you value and who and don't gotta prove nothing. I'm just saying this one is personal for em"

'we just wanna kill this thing" One female Cap assures

"Yeah... I guess we should focus."

"Look for areas where folks have goats... even in a big city like TJ, there's always some neighborhood where someone violates laws on animal ownership"

"I think I know a couple of places. Come on." She leads the way "You know... it doesn't make a lot of sense now that you say it. You'd think something like a Chupacabra would be -outside- the city, where there is prey."

"More goats which is their bread and butter, but satyrs are their expensive steak... so maybe that's a factor?" The female redcap, whose name is Low Low... shrugs "But yeah, does seem weird"

"I don't remember Chupacabra as being intelligent; or verbal."

THIS gets an excited rush of conversation... redcaps love their hunts and consider themselves THE Monster hunters "Varies, they got a real shot in the arm from an uptick in folk lore..." " used to be mostly Puerto Rico in the states, you know?" " Some are really cunning, not intelligent... but animal devious?" "I heard rumors of one that talks" "BULLSHIT" "I did"

"If it talks, we could ask what it's doing in the city."

"Drinking goat and satyr blood is what it's doing"

"Do we have confirmed reports?"

"Yeah, a satyr got attacked ..." He names the street "drank near dry. she's recovering at the Pitt'

"I'll stop by after this."

jessica leads them to an area with goats... and sure enough sees the povery stricken locals giving suspicious looks at the group of toughs

Jessica tries to look tough, too.

They give her space... and yup, they find the dead goat. the animal is a husk

"Tracks?"

"It can affect the autumn world" One cap observes "Not that most animals are banal, but worth noting huh?"

"Good point."

"Not seeing tracks..." Phobos says then sniffs "Scent's gotten weak"

"Kenning maybe" Low Low says

"We can try it."

Jessica feels glamour.. the trail is not on the ground, but up the wall

She looks up.

"It climbs walls." Demos says

'Makes sense" PHobos agrees "Got to be nimble if you hunt goats"

Jessica goes over and examines the wall more closely.

"Up and over?" Low Low asks

The wall has a few chimerical nicks and cuts but they're tiny.

She reports this. "Anyone want to go climbing? Maybe some others fan out around the building?"

"Sounds like a plan" phobos says "You want to climb boss, or fan to the side? You won't be alone either way"

"I'll stay on the ground. Let's go." And they do.

Low Low and Demos clamber up the wall, Phobos joins Jessica on one side of the ground and some of the other corby members go the other way

From the roof they hear "Found tracks'

Jessica looks around for a way up.
