He seems to be trying to SNEAK Up on the flower, coming from behind

She watches....

He takes a sharp something, scissors? No.. he's not clipping the stem, but taking a sample or bud or something

She steps out, into the same area. And clears her throat.

He nearly falls on his fuzzy little ass "ACK. I'm busted. Don't hit me with your book, Salma!"

"I'm not Salma. I'm Jessica. What's your name?"

"Uhm.. am I in trouble? Because if I'm in trouble my name is Layne" The boy says

"That remains to be seen." She says "Why were you going to, um, trim that flower?

"Take a sample and try to grow it. " He says "Never seen a flower like it" he suddenly switches from scared to excited "Figure I'll plant it near the lodge , should take there but I may need a greenhouse"

Now she recognizes the boy. Jack Flap! Holger has mentioned him. From Rivervale

"You're Jack." She says "From Rivervale."

"Jack Flap, not the other jack, or that other jack you probably don't know. Lot of jacks" he offers his empty hand

She shakes, carefully. "Nice to know you. Why were you sneaking? You could have asked."

"Well..." he says "I might owe Salma a book the next time I visited..which is now? And I don't have one"

A frown. "Jack of Rivervale, all Rivervale is welcome here. You know who I am, where I came from?"

"Yup. You're Countess Jessica the flame free, the Far Westward King, the heroine of Fenix, the bringer of a new rennysauce, the sultana of scowl, the bad blue mambajamba with a big ole hamma, stick up you're dary air, but you really do care and try to be fair. The Peacemaker no crap taker you're no faker, Jessica" He says as if having learned this from some one else's telling

A sigh.

"Uhm can I take a sample, please?"

"Not even -half- of that is true, Jack. If you really know who I am, then you know Rivervale is welcome here. As for a sample, you'll have to ask Ellie. Those are her flowers."

"Oh" he says "I didn't know that. This was easier when I didn't know who to ask so I could pretend I didn't have to, but ok. Thank you"

"Do you know where to find her?"

"I'll look around" he says

She nods. "Please show the manners and respect that Rivervale is known for here."

He blushes and looks ashamed "Yes' Ma'am"

She nods and goes back to her work.

The balefire greets her with a kind of wave.

"Well hey." She pauses with a smile, and takes a seat.

It curls about almost in a question mark. How are you doing kind of thing. They're linked so she knows Jessica's mood has had some shifts of late. It, for it's part ,seems warm and snuggly. Must be beltaine approaching

She offers her fingers to the flames. "I think we're good." she observes.

the flames dance around the fingers a bit like a puppy wanting an ear rumple

She wiggles her fingers, smiling.

Now it dances, partly to amuse her

She plays back, her fingers and hand dancing with it, her free hand occasionally jumping in to make things interesting, then out again.

The loops get bigger and fancier in response. Through out the hold folks might feel the glamoour take on the flavor of delight

"Oh, yeah?" she grins, weaving her arms in and out now.

Challenge accepted! Like a game of strings woven between two girls, the looops close and weave about

She uses both hands/arms now, yes, playing cat's cradle with her Balefire!

Soon the show grows, glowing bright with shifting flames and Jessica feels almost as if she's skipping rope with her hands

Moved by the spirit, she makes those gestures, rope-skipping gestures.

She doesn't actually hop, mind you, but her arms move.

And glamour seems to increase in the hold.. even as Jessica , ever up to a physical challenge, goes at it

She gets a good work out in! Arm circles, moves that could be called dancing if you had to put a name to it, but Jessica doesn't dance much at all so it can't be that.

Definitely not, but joy and lilght spreads through the hold and.. unbewknowns to Jessica, a new room is made

And in that ignorance, blissful, she plays until the Balefire feels.... good. Right.
