Possible PING as someone nearly died Chimerically, but she did get better

The dubious brow goes up.

Jessie looks down at her feet swinging above the floor.

"Who got hurt?" she asks quietly.

"No one got hurt -permanently-."

"Jessica--"

She looks up with a stubborn expression "No one got hurt -permanently-. Or killed."

"But you are avoiding telling me something. Why?"

"Because....." a frustrated sigh "It's complicated."

"I love you and I don't want to hurt you, or Daddy. And this is a Renaissance matter, isn't it? So you don't need to worry about it; it's my duty."

A deep breath and a slow exhale. "I dislike this."

"Me too." in a quiet voice.

"And I think...if you feel the need to lie to me about it, it is not exclusively a Renaissance matter."

A small shrug, watching her feet swing.

"Hm." A quiet moment. "Then...that is as it is. Perhaps we should return to the others." She moves toward the door.

Jessie doesn't move for a moment, then slides off the chair and says "Ok. I'll be right there."

A nod, and she steps out, leaving Jessica on her own for the moment.

Brekke finds the area seemingly empty, but she can hear sounds of life and work further on

And the sluagh childlilng who was spying on her slips away, for now. Perhaps, he thinks, there are deals to be made, secrets to be sold. He is young, and needs the practice

And Jessica composes herself, even if she might have some urge to sulk about things. She is just a kid after all
