"But.... I know a lot of the childlings in Fenix already. And many in Renaissance."

Another nod. "It was merely a thought. And...perhaps not only in terms of childlings." Then a blink. "Hm."

"Childlings are often underestimated..." she muses.

"Yes. Last time I mouthed off to Tweak where Shuri heard it, I ended up with apoxey in my seat. And she's not even sained yet" She wrinkles her nose, but there's a chuckle as well

"I also realize...Jessica...whoever is behind this, they are not looking for you like this."

She blinks and looks at Mitra.

"I don't know if it was meant to kill but it sure was meant to disrupt any cantrip trying to get the facts" she says "And, of course, the whole set up targeted a certain vigilante before that. though that wasn't the counter cantrip part"

"Right, well.... it didn't, that's what's really important. Is there anything else we need to look at?"

Mitra ponders "Well, you have Tweak checking on Duff. But did you want him to know you were... a childling again? Or want to hide it from her? You may want to text her and let her know which"

Jessie looks into her juice, sips it. "It doesn't matter if he knows or not."

"All right" A nod "Then if I may? The nunehi we do trust? Maybe their childlings know things"

A blink. "That's a good point; and bad on me, I never even considered them. 'Course, we haven't met but....."

"Hm. Yes...you perhaps have a chance to connect with their childlings, now. Much diplomacy is done by accident by childlings."

"Ellie might want to join in that. Sayda too" SHe ponders

A nod.

She doesn't -love- that but nods reluctantly. "Yes ma'am."

A slight grin from Brekke at that.

"I guess I can go see who's here now and if they want to go."

"Beyond that, I'm sure I'll think of something else later but now.. I think we've got most covered' A look at both "Unless you two have other suggestions? I'm proposed out"

Brekke shakes her head. "Not right now. But I am sure the opportunities of childlinghood should not be ignored. The Dreaming may have provided."

A long-suffering sigh.

"OH now, Jessica, if I can deal with a bit of age you can handle the temporary youth" A smile

"Yes, ma'am."

"And likely," Brekke says to Mitra, "there are lessons and opportunities your age may provide."

"I am curious to see what those will be. This is something of a preview for me" Mitra admits

Jessie slides down off her chair. "Mom, do you want me to talk you back to the trod? You're welcome to stay of course. And talk, if you like."

A pause, and then she clears her throat. "If there was no crisis here, I might suggest you confer with the Countess of Charm. She is of your House, and a granddame."

Jessie blinks.

She clears her throat. "Beyond that, I have no suggestions for how one of your House and kith may draw wisdom from this experience."

"I am somewhat in awe of the Countess of Charm," Mitra admits "But it is good advice and I will consider it"

Then a smile "And yes, please, Chieftain, if you want to stay? Many of the rooms here are troll sized"

"Rosa and Maria can help set you up if you want to stay. We'd be happy to have you."

"I..." she seems about to decline, but then pauses. "I will contact Rivervale and make arrangements. I believe I can stay at least one night."

"Excuse me." Brekke rises and leaves the room to make exactly those sorts of arrangements.

Mitra inclines her head, then looks to Jessica "You think she's like the Blue room or the one with the forest embossed on the wall?"

Jessica nods, and heads out to that direction.

Preparations are made and mitra smiles. She'll make sure to give mother and daughter some private time
