Drinks are brought for them all. Blue Koolaid offered to Jessica

"Oh. Um. No."

That last to Tweak at her question. She looks at the blue koolaid but doesn't touch it. "Thank you." to the offer.

"Would you prefer milk or juice?"

Coffee is off on the side for Tweak

"Juice? Juice sounds good. And, um, a large coffee." She indicates Brekke.

"Of course" Rosa smiles and fights the urge to pinch Jessica's cheek, then goes off to get that as well

Tweak sneers at the coffee. "Yo! Tequila!" she calls after Rosa.

A sigh "Si, Captaz, I get you your Tequila" Rosa clearly doesn't approve of drinking hard stuff in front of a kid but there you go. She'll get it

Brekke nods thanks at the coffee Jessica has ordered for her.

Tweak redirects her attention to Jessica. "Well, why th' fuck ain'tcha?"

"Little ears " Mitra says deadpan

"I know those words already, Mitra."

Tweak gives Mitra a baffled look. "What 'bout 'em?"

Brekke, for her part, doesn't seem particularly bothered by Jessica hearing them...at least, no more so than she dislikes hearing them herself. But...nockers will nocker.

"Because we just got back and figured out what was going on and if you're going to look into the explosives and stuff you should get the information directly." she said logically.

"Nevermind" Mitra chuckles in her own cup

And drinks are brought back for others. A BIG mug of black coffee for Brekke, Tequila for Tweak, and yes, juice for Jessica

"Uh....yeah." Tweak says. "An' th' local arms dealer ain' somebody you think got direct info on somepin like that? Ohhh-kayyyy." A shrug.

"Ah, there we is." Tweak takes up the glass and swigs it back, making a happy grimace. "Aww, fuck yeah."

She thumps the glass down on the table, then eyes Brekke. "Some day...gonna challenge you, shot-fer-shot. See what Rigger done got himself tied up wit'."

Brekke doesn't respond at first...then merely lifts a brow.

"Yes, I think it's likely he does, so you should go get it since you're the expert."

Mitra looks intrigued at the notion of a Brekke Tweak drink down. No matter who loses, I will definitely win then she speaks up "Duff and Jessica don't talk much anymore"

A snort of amusement at Jessica. "Yeah, yeah...I play go-between again. What-the-fuck-ever."

Tweak gives the empty glass a wishful look, but then sighs. "Playtime later. Gotta get lookin' at...well, whatever people got fer me to look at."

Jessie shrugs. "I could go too, but there doesn't seem much point to it."

"Thanks Tweak." sincerely "A war like this wouldn't do anyone any good. People would get hurt when they don't have to be. It would be bad."

Wide eyes. "Nahhhh, really?" A smirk. "Have fun at th' kids table." She makes her way out.

Mitra watches her go "An amazing mind behind a very sharp tongue, and under that, a heart that might be bigger than it dare at admit" A sip "And under that, a rump that longs to be kicked at times. But she's too damn valuable to the County to do it" A fond look though

Jessie takes a deep breath. "Ok. What am I forgetting?"

A slight amused sound from Brekke. "Frank always speaks well of her."

A look back to Jessica. "Is there any help that Rivervale can provide?"

"Thanks, mom. I appreciate your being here, even if it wasn't my idea. I didn't mean to take you away from your duty at Rivervale."

"I think, right now... we need more information, from sources here."

"You did not take me away," she says, pausing for a sip of coffee. "Your people are supporting you well, and so I will return. But Jessica...if you wish me to return, whether or not you need me to return, I insist you tell me."

"Um. I will."

"It's probably for the best if you do stay in touch with your mother, Countess. The change affects not just our bodies but outlooks and more"

A brow to Mitra. "That is interesting. Jessica, you should take advantage of the benefits of childlinghood while you have the opportunity. More connection to glamour...a view yet unclouded by cynicism...." She trails off, then after a pause, finishes her coffee.

"Much like your mother says, you'll have a different viewpoint. Your mother can , if you like and she wishes, give you a more grown up troll perspective . I 'm feeling rather oddly 'settled' , myself. Not in a bad way "The new Grump admits "the sense of patience is actually ..soothing? mmm. " A smile "Perhaps Holger will act as a messanger if you wish? Between Rivervale lessons and his duties here. He'll probably want to assist. He tends to be eager to make sure all goes well and he contributes to that"

Brekke nods. "That would work well. We always welcome Holger."

"Am I that cynical?" she seems surprised and even bothered "I... Ok."

"I think she's speaking of childlings being less cynical period than the other seemings period" Mitra assures Jessica, then looks at Brekke to confirm

A nod of agreement, but then a look at Jessica. "Normally, you do not trust easily, Jessica. Sometimes that is wise. Sometimes it is not."

She shifts in her seat. "Is this one of those times?" she looks at the others in the room.

"It is difficult to say. But...showing trust can build bridges. Perhaps making connections would be wise?"

"I can't speak for your mother, but you do understand I'm an Eiluned? " The grand dame regent smiles gently "My house neither trusts easily nor is it trusted. I am not sure I can lob stones on this subject. I think sometimes you try to do a lot yourself that others could help you with if you'd let them, and your dislike of that seems like distrust at times however you intend it. But again, I'm an Eiluned. I think caution serves anyone well. As long as caution serves you, and you don't serve it"

Brekke nods solemnly. "Yes, that is also trust. Showing others that you trust they know what to do and will do it well."
