Fawn trots down the hallway. It's been a good life, and she has made inroads with the Nunehi thanks to kindness and medical knowhow. The old graymare ain't what she used to be, she jokes, but they respect older folk so ... she returns after being out with a smile on her face.

Tijuana is a dangerous city, an intense murder rate, but there's beauty even here.

She looks about "Folks we're having a guest.. oh..."

the hall appears empty

"Ah well," She moves along. Then smiles "Holger, are you on guard?"

"Si," Holger says, standing at attention in the hallway "I am practicing standing for long periods and being watchful. Every now and then, Ahpuch tries to sneak by me and we see if I catch him. Sometimes I lose, but when I miss him, it just teaches me to watch harder"

Fawn wonders if Holger realizes how adorable he is.

"Did you catch him recently?" Fawn asks "Or has it been a bit?"

"I saw him a half hour ago," the boy says, "he grew prideful, and did try the walking backwards.. the walk of the moon ? It is an ancient dance"

The woman covers her mouth to hide a smile at the notion of a moonwalking slaugh "I see. Have you seen the Countess today?"

"Countess Ellie is playing with ribbons and dresses with a guest, Vaeltilde of Aesin, and of course the others. "

"Oh, how fun" Fawn says "And Countess Jessica?"

"Ah, no. I have not seen... AH HA! " He points past Fawn towards a wisp of a shadow "You are caught, mi amigo!"

"draft." comes a mutter "I thought you wouldn't be as attentive talking"

Fawn blinks, then looks behind her "Oh my , Ah puch, if it helps, I didn't hear you at all"

Ahpuch is mollified 'It is bad enough big trolls are so attentive, if Centaurs were as well I would be cross. Keen eyes and slippery ways should be for the scrawny ones"

Jessica's voice and footsteps are heard "... no, a giant, moving pinata. Filled with flan. Chimerial of course but.... that thing was huge, and angry....."

"Flan?" Fawn blinks then realizes the children might not be the best to ask

Holger whispers to Ahpuch "Ahpuch, hold where you are, and let it show I caught you? I wish to impress la contessa grande"

"Ahpuch?" He says, then turns to see the sluagh is gone. He sighs. But then snaps to attention as the Countess gets closer. Like a good thane would. ! Attentive.

Jessica comes down the hall. Someone's given her a towel. She is.... soggy. Covered in some kind of dairy-based material. Not quite a liquid, not solid enough to be butter; a pudding, perhaps?

From horn to toe, no part of her is dry.

She has, however, wiped her face off.

"Oh dear" Fawn says "Countess, what happened?" SHe moves forward with a handkerchef

"Thank you." she takes it "There was a chimerial pinata. A bull, from a bullfight? It was angry. And full of flan."

"Oh my, it was animate? Attacking people? I've never heard of the like" She wishes she brought another cloth

"Countess, you should have asked for my help" Holger fusses "I would have fought by your side"

Then he adds "I do not fear the Flan"

"Animate chimera? They're all over the place." She says.

"Thank you, Holger. I appreciate that."

"I meant a ..well, Yes I suppose they are" Fawn chuckles "I guess I never met an aninimated Pinata , chimericsal or otherwise. Looks like it must have been bull sized indeed, so much flan. Holger ,would you be a dear and bring her a towel or something to wipe the excess off with?"

"Si, " he clicks his heels and races off. He has a mission!

"He's a sweet boy" She approves

"He is." Jess does the best she can with her already-used towel and the handkerchief. "I need to just go shower."

"Well, take the towel he brings you anyway. I don't know if you've heard this, but there are some who believe trolls need to feel useful" The centauress smiles "Oh, before I forget. I have a guest coming here. He wanted 3 nights and 3 days for himself and a lady friend?"

She nods, a bit sticky. "You vouch for them?"

"Sure do, one of them is Buck, a fellow Centaur who spent sometime with me at the lodge, not usre if you met him.. .but .. oh" SHe turns as Holger comes up folded up troll sized towel

"Doesn't ring a bell...." she clears custard out of an ear "... Thank you, Holger."

"Well, good. They'll be here any moment so I wanted to be sure it wasn't a problem" Fawn nods

Holger says "De Nada, it is my honor"

"Only problem will be if I have to meet new people covered in flan. Me, not them. Although I don't want THEM covered in dessert, either."

"I'll go shower. 'Scuse me."

"of course" she smiles and gets out of her way

Holger resumes guard!

"Thanks." and she goes to get cleaned up.

Good grief. She has flan in places she never expected. But the shower is intense, and through

much cleaner, and she comes out, washed, dried, and dressed to hear Phobos being shushed

"I'm right here, Phobos, good lord" Fawn is fussing "And so are they.."

"BUT I'M THE HERALD!" Sir Phobos points out

"Oh let him" A man's voice, deep and powerful
